Last Summer

You came to light the darkest time
Of my unfortunately remaining life.
You sat beside me, acknowledge me
When everyone else turned their back.

You took the crumpled paper
And read the things I wrote.
I never thought that you'll be
The one who'll fulfill them all.

There's only ten in there but trust me
I wanted to do more than that.
And the last thing - falling in love,
Is definitely not just what I want
Because I wanted to do more things - with you.

I love you but I am so sorry
I am not here to stay
But know that I am happy
This last summer that you spent with me

And when I leave, promise me
You'll move on and live life happily
Know that I'll just be here
Even when I am not by your side
Watching and loving you endlessly from above.
