Sophia had ran back up the stairs and locked herself away in her room for the second time that night. She was sure her heart had shattered. Why could he proclaim his love for her, yet still be in love with another? Her head began to hurt, and her eyes seemed as if they were to never stop their tears. Then suddenly, anger controlled her body, it was as if she couldn't control her body and all she wanted to do was damage. To what? She didn't know. Her eyes locked onto a vase in the corner of her room. Oh how she had loved that vase, for in the nighttime when she slept there it reminded her of him and his elegance. She picked the ten pound vase up as if it only weighed the same as a glass of wine and threw it to the wall, watching it shatter into a million pieces before her. How could she have been so stupid?

Nicolas had heard the crash and thought she had been injured. He had rushed to her room, only to find that it was locked.

"Sophia! Cara, are you alright?" He asked through the door. And his voice was the last thing she wanted to hear in this fit of rage.

"NO! No, I'm not alright! Leave me alone you-you lying bastard!" She screamed.

"What are you talking about?!" He yelled back, using the key he often hid over her door to open it, forbidding it from separating them. As he stood in the doorway, he looked into her eyes from across the room, and he only caught a glimpse of pure hurt and heartbreak before anger flashed again. He looked at her astonished. He had never seen her this way.

"Sophia..." He trailed off, his eyes showing hurt and concern.

"Get out." He spoke, tears still running down her cheeks.

"Cara.." He spoke quietly coming closer to her. She backed away.

"No, Nicolas." She cried hysterically. However he continued to near her. He embraced her as she struggled against him, hitting him. However his arms stayed locked around her tightly, waiting for her body to relax against his. She cried hysterically as her body became limp in his arms and she fell to her knees, taking him with her.

He sat with her in his lap, cradled in his arms as she cried.

"I hate you..." She cried. And that is when his heart sank. He was sure that the reason of her behavior was that she had seen his and Susan's meaningless kiss. However, she was taking it as if he had just slept with the woman.

"Why do you hate me?" He asked, his heart heavy.

"Because you still love her." She whispered softly as tears flowed down her face silently. He hugged her tightly.

"I could never love anyone but you.." He whispered in her ear, stroking her hair.

"But you kissed her. She wants you back. You're still married to her.." She spoke.

"She kissed me. I wouldn't want another's lips upon mine unless they were yours.. And I do not want her back. I never truly loved her. It was an arrangement by our parents. And yes, I am still married to her, but not for long. Because I love you. And I don't know any other way to show you that. Damn it, Sophia if you want me to marry you I will. Just to get it through your head that I love you. I always will. You are perfection to me." He whispered into her ear as he kissed her cheek.

"I don't know, Nicolas. I don't know about anything anymore..." She trailed off.

"Darling, have I ever told you a lie before? Why can't you believe me when I tell you that there is no one else I could love the way I love you. Damn it, Sophia, listen to me. Believe me. Just continue loving me..." He spoke looking into her eyes. Her soul almost seemed to melt into them. However, she still looked reluctant. He placed his hands upon her cheeks. Bringing her face closer to his he rested his forehead against hers.

"Come to Roma with me Angela. (Angel) let me show you the real city of love." He spoke. Her eyes were taken in by his, and she agreed.

"Now Cara, you must know that you have broken my favorite vase.." He spoke with a smile at her.

"I'm sorry." She whispered. He laughed and pulled her in, pressing her body firmly against his.

"It's quite alright darling. You had a good reason I suppose. Now when do you want to leave?" He asked her.

"The sooner the better. I just want to get away." She spoke looking to the ground. He placed two fingers underneath her chin and tilted her head up so that her eyes could look into his.

"We leave tomorrow." He whispered before his lips touched hers in a burning passion of love and forgiveness. She would be leaving her home to fly to Rome, a place she had never been truly interested in. However, now that he was taking her, she couldn't be more excited. She couldn't wait to fall in love with Rome just as he had. She couldn't wait to fall in love with him all over again...
