Hello, and welcome to chapter seven!

This chapter is dedicted to the one, the only AnitaMisra. Her writing is some of the best writing I have seen on here. All of you who are reading this should definitely go read her work. She reminds me of Jane Austen mixed with a pinch of the Bronte sisters. I have no words to express how amazing her work is. So all of you should definitely check her out!

Oh, and just a question of curiosity: Several of the characters in here are not human. What--or who--do you think they are? Tell me in the comments!

ENJOY!!!!

~Chapter Seven~

Meaghan slammed her fist against the wall of the deserted bathroom. The crunch of the brick cracking under her hand echoed loudly, ringing in her developed ears and causing an unpleasant sensation. “Damnation!” she screamed, knowing that no one could hear her. She, Hayley, and Jenna had quickly staked out this bathroom as their place to discuss issues and plans, and had spun it into a soundproof room. For safety and demonic reasons, they didn’t want anyone to hear them at any time.

Meaghan paced the tiled floor, steam practically bursting from her ears. They were so close to their rise and recovery. It pained her to understand that the only thing in her family’s way were two puny, breakable humans. Depending on who they sided with, their future would either conquer or crumble. Meaghan couldn’t bear to think of what would happen if it crumbled.

She leaned against the wall and slid down to the floor, tremors rocking her body. She could feel herself succumbing to the warm embrace of her true nature; she fought against it, kicking and punching the wall, causing cracks to appear in the brick. Moans of frustration vibrated in her throat.

Damn it, Ari, she shouted, on the verge of explosion, if you won’t provide me with a way to collect the Elliots, then I will find one myself!

I stepped out of the school with a sigh of relief, my rigid muscles relaxing. The fresh air did wonders to my exhaustion. I slung the straps of my backpack over my shoulders and inhaled deeply, savoring the sweet taste of purity.

Annoyingly, my body tensed once again. Erin was near me, I could tell. I glanced ove my shoulder and saw her hurried form race out onto the concrete. She passed by me, glancing up once with those sweet blue eyes. I smiled nervously at her, and she returned the motion, blushing a furious shade of red. I gazed at her fading body until she veered around a corner, disappearing from sight. I finally relaxed, blinking myself out of my crazed state.

“What are you thinking so hard about, baby?”

Meaghan’s voice called to me directly at my side. I jumped, startled. “God, Megs,” I breathed, struggling to regain my composure, “you scared the crap out of me.”

Meaghan grinned. “I tend to do that a lot.”

I gave her a sideways smirk. “Yeah, that’s right,” I said slyly. “Now that I recall, you seem to do that to me a ton.” Meaghan giggled and stared up at me with her wide, innocent blue eyes, begging. I chuckled and bent to kiss her. Her sharp, pleasure-filled intake of breath was all the encouragement I needed.

As our lips folded prettily together, I still had the feeling that something about this was off. Something about Meaghan and me was wrong. I felt that we shouldn’t be kissing, shouldn’t be touching, even. Something was different, and for the life of me I couldn’t figure out what.
