Wind bit my cheeks as the train whizzed past me, unweighted newspaper pages fluttered desolately. I gripped my leather briefcase in my right hand, my left holding my dark bowler hat to my head. My shaggy brown hair tickled my nose, then settled. I frowned slightly as my eyes drifted to one of the loose pages of a newspaper, a block of text describing how suited men marched into an apartment and kidnapped a middle aged woman. Jane was her name, and she lived two doors down from where I lived. They were looking for me.
I stepped out onto the trackers, which trembled slightly of the leaving train. My combat boot heels clicked against the metal rails and thudded softly on the wood platform. I looked out onto the dusty road which led out into the wood. I smiled.
I think I'm going to like it here.
