Truly Immortal- The Beginning

There is a legend of old passed down through the generations that says a cave exist deep in the forest of Molcur on the edge of the Village of Therain. This cave is said to possess, somewhere deep inside a chamber, the means to immortality. Somewhere through the tunnel of chambers is a warning that states: Doth not proceedeth. Thou hast been warned. A curse lieth ahead, this way is death. Doth not proceedeth.

No one knew whether it was just that... a legend. But some in the village didn't even know of the curse in the cave. They weren't told of the story of the Witch and a deadly betrayal. That's what brought the curse about, or so they're told.

No one in the village or outside in nearing villages would dare tread close to the cave. Some believed it to be true, others didn't want to take a chance just in case the legend was true. But there was one... one unknowing villager stumbled upon the cave while out on a hunt for food.

This villager delved deep into the cave and released something evil, changing the world as we know it.

The beginning is said to be the easiest part, but in truth, the beginning spins the very fabric of the first thread of web. Getting that first thread of web perfect; that's what makes the beginning difficult but in the end the result is inevitably up to you. The-Dark-One

Prologue

Caen Tomes-

I've lived since the beginning of the human race, I watched humans populate the earth, and eventually, I watched them change into something unknown. A time when one had to go in search of food into the wilderness were the times I cherished most. A human life. A family. Feeling the excitement of a village get together and being able to see the girl I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. But those moments were short lived.

My mother asked me to go into the wilderness and gather as much food as I possibly could. At the time, I was a young man, my birth was to be celebrated in two days to be exact, which is the reason for my being in search of food. We always had a gathering of sorts for ones celebration of their birth, and so, it was my celebration I was preparing for.

As I kissed my mother and my little sister goodbye, I couldn't help but feel the excitement of the hunt. Gathering my spear and axe, I set out on a days journey into the wilderness. My heart was rapidly beating, pumping the adrenalin rush through me at faster speeds giving me that extra 'oomph' in my step. The excitement for the hunt spun my thoughts so much so, that I had not paid attention to the paths that laid before me. Hours later I realized I had veered off the path I was supposed to be walking.

I had been too amped up about the hunt, that I let it completely consume my mind, and without the correct path... things could get extremely dangerous.

Pinks and light orange streaked across the sky signaling that sunset was upon me. I only had a hour and a half of daylight left. My worry increased, only because I had never been on this path before, and I wasn't quite sure where I could safely lay my head for the night. I cautiously weaved through the trees and over broken tree trunks and before I realized it, the sun had set for the day. I peered through the treetops to see a hangnail moon staring back down at me. It was a beautiful night.

Turning my focus back on my task at hand I spotted a good sized gave ahead. I made my way to it only thinking of finding shelter and a few hours of sleep and then I would continue my search for Deer and Wild Boar.

Unbeknownst to me, stepping into that cave would change my life and the world we know.
