From what I can recall that happened, since I don't fully remember the title or all of the events but I do remember a few details.
The slayer or Hunter was a female, somewhere along the book she discovers a DOG with vampire blood in its system causing it to crave blood and act more animalistic. The leading girl gains its trust by caring for it slowly feeding it without getting in its personal space.
She has help from others to go into battle with vampires and I think werewolves. Remember the dog is just a dog not a werewolf.
Its been a long time since I have read the book but I really want to again. Please let me know if you have any idea of the book that I am talking about or the author who wrote it.
