Why am i not good enough?

Josh's POV:
I woke up to the most gorgeous site you could ever see.
"Good morning my princess"I said as I rolled over to the other side of the bed to see Maya's silky hair spread out and her  aquatic sparkling blue eyes staring back at me while a lill smile spreads across her rosy checks
"Yea yea,let a princess sleep will ya?" She asked while pulling the covers over face
But instead Of letting her sleep I just pulled off the covers on her face and threw the blanket on the floor and find her curled up wearing nothing but my oversized t-shirt from last night. Idk how she managed to put that shirt on last night, we wore eachother out that I was way to tired to even put on my boxers so I just put the stained sheets around my waist.
"Do you want a round 3 or something cuz if you do I'm way to tired for that. You took all my energy last night." She asked while siting up on the bed
"No, even tho I'm flattered and would love a round 3, we have to talk" I answered as a tool a seat next to her.
"Oh Ik this talk, ur leaving me aren't you? I have a lot of talks like this. With ex boyfriends or friends. Some people don't have the courtesy  of saying good bye. ...cough...my dad. But just save the talk. I'll get dressed and be on my way out, I don't need anybody, I'm fine on my own" she said while standing up from The bed. I can tell she was putting her guard up so she doesn't get hurt again. She lies that she needs no one but that's not true. I mean I agree she will survive without needing Anyone but she won't LIVE without needing anyone. So b4 she could take one not step I gentally grab her wrist so she can sit back down
"Wait what? No maya that's not it" I said
"Ok thank god" she said while releasing a slight laugh
"But what we really need to talk about is carter and his frien-"
Suddenly maya jumped up from the seat and covered her ears while blurting out
"Nope, I'm not hearing about him. I done ever want to hear his name ever again. I dumped him. Broke up. Left his sorry ass and that's the last of it. I don't want anything to do with the police And never want to see carters face again. That's the last of it josh so don't start rambling on about them "suffering the consequences'"
"But maya! Him and his friends need to get arrested for what they did to you!" I said while standing up to speak to her
"I said No! I just want to leave this! Plz just leave this. What's done is done there's nothing we can do about it" she said while grabbing my hands and looking at me directly in my eyes
"Maya why don't you want to fix This!!"
Now where just yelling at eachother
"Bcuz!!" She yelled while turning away but b4 she could go farther I yelled
"Bcuz why maya! Bcuz ur afraid of carter?!"
With that she turned right around to me , I can see a wave of anger flash across her face and yelled
"Don't you ever say that. I ain't fucking scared of that douche or his pussy ass friends, IM the one who left. I'll beat each one of them if I have too. I mean I nearly killed his best friend yesterday!"
" then why maya?!" I asked once more.
"Bcuz they will never believe me!" She yelled
A wave of confusion crossed my face
"Whose they?" I asked in a more calming voice
"The police. They didn't believe that Jose was trying sexually abuse me again or that he slapped me. They just believed that I hit him out of no where. They  take ONE look at my background and instantly think I'm lying or I did something wrong. I mean I don't blame them tho, I wouldn't believe me too. Imma screw up. So I'm not gonna put myself in a situation where Ik I'm gonna get hurt or disappointed or embarrassed or all of them" she said in a crackling voice while staring at the wooden floor.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I never knew she fealt like this. I can't stand to she my baby like this. I didn't even bother to ask about what happened with Jose or who Jose even was.
I just walked up to her, lifted up her chin too look at me and wiped the tear rolling down her cheek.
"It's ok baby, I believe you" I whispered
"And that's all that matters to me" she whispered back.
"But Can I ask you a question josh?" Maya Asked while she was staring into my eyes with my hand still on her chin
"Sure" I said
"What are we now?"
"Oh that's easy were just fuck buddies, nothing serious.....Jkjk." I joked as she playfully pushed me back but I just held on to her agian
"No I'm being serious josh, do you want to keep this secret?" she said with a chuckle
"Maya hart, I love you. why wouldn't I want to you show off? I want to walk into a restaurant and be like 'MAYA PENELOPE HART IS MINE AND ONLY MINE!' I yelled while crossing my fingers with hers to hold her warm hand.
Maya didn't say anything, instead she just kissed me and I can feel her lips form a smile
