Tristessa Desmeaux is a girl who lives in the city of love: Paris, France. Although living in Paris is a joy for others, to Tristessa, it's hell. After the death of her father, she is left in charge of his bakery, but is also treated badly by her siblings and mother. She longs for answers and longs to leave. Most of all, she longs to be wanted.
Cadmar Lowe is an adventurous lad with a free spirit. Tired of his American life, he travels to France on a ship, leaving his mother and father behind. Of course, the memory of his late older brother Cedric still remains. Even though he is happy to be free, Cadmar feels as if his life is missing something: love.
When these two individuals meet unexpectedly, secrets are revealed that neither of them expected.
Will Cadmar's wish be granted? Will Tristessa finally get the life she so rightfully deserves?
