*ISABEL'S POV*
Gunshots.
My head rings from the sound, and I immediately turn and look at Rebecca. Her face is pale and stricken, probably how mine looks right now. Miss Hills gets up from her chair, and opens the closet door, silently beckoning for us to go in.
We all file in, and crouch low onto the floor. The last few people help Miss Hills move a bookshelf over the door.
"Did everyone turn off their monitors?" Miss Hill whispers, looking into everyone's face. I think for a second, and then look at the ground. "Isabel?"
I shake my head. I will be the one who gets us all killed.
How could you be so stupid, Isabel? All you had to do was turn off your monitor, and you failed.
"Did someone take out the door stopper? Is the door locked? Was the drape pulled over the window?" Miss Hill whispers again, looking to those who were assigned these jobs.
Everyone shakes their heads, and I almost feel relieved. If we all die, it won't be completely my fault.
I look back at the ground, but I snap my head right back up. I hear the sound of something breaking wood.
And then I scream.
Wouldn't you if you saw a bullet enter your best friend's head?
