The world is upside-down and backwards.
Where peace once held the shore,
Now is in the grip of war.
Where love once flowed in gentle streams,
Hate now in dreadful rage screams.
Where joy once filled a heart,
Sorrow now inhabits, sour and tart.
There was forgiveness in abundance.
It is now swept away in vengeance.
What once was good now has gone bad.
What once was sane has now gone mad.
The world is upside-down and backwards.
