Unwritten Destiny

Someone told me today,

that if I had no specific goal then that was okay.

You see, I had this fear

That when my future draws near

I would lack in destination and be lost

with no purpose or drive.

I believed that you had to have your mind set on something,

you would thrive,

To have that one passion, to become it fully.

That stuff that inspires my idols truly.

You see, Lois Lane was set on journalism,

It became her and her charism.

Her skills were unbounded and impressed many,

To Daily Planet, she was worth every penny.

Some may point out she's fictional,

But that fact is just optional.

Take a trip to South Korea,

You will discover the frontier

of success and motivation

in idols and rap gods, complete elevation

into their dreams they make complete,

their limits and hurdles, they delete.

One such being, you know he's "a monster,

and yeah, he raps non stop",

my dear, Namjoon, had a desire

to make hip hop his empire.

He made a goal from a young age,

and he stuck to it with every turning page,

he spits like a beast,

from the west to the east.

The knowledge of one's own destiny

is powerful, I ask "what's best in me?"

When there is no answer, my time feels depleted,

What do I want to become? What goal can be completed?

An answer was found today by the words of a friend,

Life is constantly changing, you can choose to amend.

Sure, I admire those who just know what they want

They have their mindset, a willing life warrant.

A realisation that I'm not one of those people,

that its change and variety that makes me cheerful.

Life is too short to play the game

of no clear defined intent bringing me shame.

You choose something, you do it,

there's really nothing to it

if it makes you enjoy life,

and it rids you of strife.

Nothing is a life commitment unless you make it so,

Your values and beliefs can change,

Your interests and passions come and go.

What I'm trying to express is

We all have a unique internal bliss,

And it does not matter whether you have a strong, constant aspiration,

Or if many desires and a continually altered lifestyle is your inspiration.

With each action, you learn,

Transforming your life in an appropriate turn.
