Your profile is what people will see when they click your username.
Stuff that people will see: Your username, real name (optional), birthday (optional), gender, language, when you signed up, a link to your profile page, your "About Me" section, your works, chapters dedicated to you, your recent comments and votes on different stories/chapters, clubs you've joined, people you've fanned, people who have fanned you and clubs that you've joined.
You can change most of these things by clicking "Edit" while on your profile page.
You can also connect your Facebook, MySpace etc. account(s) to your Wattpad account. To get a shortcut to editting your profile faster, scroll over your username at the top of the page and click "Account Settings".
Whenever somebody fans you, comments on your story, posts in a discussion you've posted in, if Wattpad makes a special announcement etc. you will be notified in your news feed and your email inbox.
News Feed: You can view all your notifications here
Profile: View your profile page
Private Messages: If someone PM or private messages you, then you can view their message here
My Works: View stories you've uploaded and add a new chapter, edit a chapter, or change the cover
Reading List: View stories you've added to your reading list
Account Settings: Edit your profile page
