TWO WEEKS LATER:

Tomorrow morning Jerome leaves for training camp and it'll officially start the three months that my kids and I will only see him for a total of two weeks out of that three months. Then he'll start the preseason and then basketball will be in full swing.

This time of the year is always bittersweet for the kids and I. We got to watch and support Jerome do what he loves but at the same time it takes away from our family time. It puts a big strain on me because I'm basically raising our children, working, taking care of our household and holding down Jerome by myself. My days become longer and I'm constantly on the go.

Tonight Drea, Mike, and the twins are coming over for family dinner. It's a tradition we've had for the last three years and it's my turn to host it since Andrea hosted at her house last year. I had a big surprise for Mike and Jerome as well and I know they were going to love it.

I'd picked up the kids from school, went to the grocery store, got the kids settled in, changed out of my work clothes and started on dinner for tonight. I'd been slaving in the kitchen over the stove for about an hour.

Jerome requested all of his favorite foods for tonight's meal; smothered fried pork chops, collard greens with smoked ham hocks, corn, baked macaroni and cheese, candied yams, black eyed peas with turkey necks, hot water cornbread and banana pudding.

This meal wasn't the healthiest but it would be a while before he and Mike would be able to eat like this again. Plus, my baby requested it and he deserved it.

"Mookie, I'm going to pick up the surprises." Justycee called to me as she walked into the kitchen. She's been with us since coming back from our vacation.

Now that she's out of school and has all of her child care certifications, she's been helping us with the kids a lot. Jerome's trying to convince her to move here and be our full time Nanny. He's paying her good money and I trust her with my kids so it might work if she's willing to do it. "You need anything while I'm out?" She asked me.

"I don't think so but I'll call if something comes up." I replied.

Justycee was going to pick up the rest of our family from the airport. They'd been arriving all day so she's been back and forth to the airport and running my errands for me since I had to work earlier. My parents and siblings arrived early this morning. Stanley, Tatiyana, Mama J, Isaiah and Jeremy were to land any moment.

I had everybody staying in a hotel because I knew Jerome would want his privacy tonight. We would be able to sex each other the way we wanted with a house full of family. Andrea agreed with me so after dinner, we were going to have game night and ship everybody off to their hotel for the night while we get it on with our husbands.

"Mama, can I go with Auntie?" Jaydon asked, running into the kitchen. He had his jacket on inside out and his shoes on the wrong feet. I couldn't help but to laugh.

I looked at her to make sure it was okay with her before responding. She slightly nodded her head. "Yes you can go but fix your shoes and jacket baby. Hurry." I told him. He quickly sat down in the middle of the kitchen floor and adjusted his shoes on the correct feet before fixing his jacket as well.

"Ready!" He announced.

"Be good for your auntie, love you." I told him as I leaned down to hug and kiss him.

"Love you too Mama." He grinned.

"Wait y'all! I'm coming too!" Leilani hollered as she ran full speed toward the kitchen.

"Where are the kids?" I asked.

"In the den watching TV, they already did their homework." She informed me.
