Growing up
We were always told
The mirror ever lies
The truth is that
The entire time
We always knew
Deep down
That the mirror
Does in fact lie
It distorts our image
Our true selves hidden
Under a reflection
The mirror has become
An enemy for life
It makes us cry
And only exposes
All of our flaws
Its not a secret
That the mirror
Tells lies
We knew it
All along
The adults who told us
They're the ones who lied
