Finding Desires

Chapter Four

Alexandria's p.o.v

I sighed as soon as I got outside the door and looked down hoping for the tiniest bit of luck to come 

my way. "M'am are you alright?" I laughed at this. Alright? Alright was an understatement. "Alright. 

Am 

I alright? I'm out of a home. Living in a car with no heat or ac for me and my daughter. I have no 

money to buy us food." I choked out as I lifted my shirt to show my bones. "And to top everything off 

my husband doesn't remember us. So am I alright? No I'm not alright!" She gulped and looked at me 

as if she was trying to process everything I was saying. "Here." I looked down to her hands to see her 

handing me a wad of money. "I-I, I can't take that." She shook her head and pushed it into my pocket. 

"Please go get you and your little girl something to eat and then come back to me when you two are 

done." I furrowed my eyebrows trying to figure out if this was a joke or if she was actually being 

genuine but I couldn't read her. "I um thank you...Thank you so much." She nodded in response and 

walked off. "You ready to get something to eat baby?" I looked down to see a very weak Nadia 

nodding 

fast and with that we ran off to the cafeteria to feed our grumbling tummies.

"Um here you go here's the rest of the cash we didn't need it all." Me and Nadia fed our self's one pop 

tart each. I know It's not a lot but I felt guilty enough taking the ladies money as it is. "No, keep it 

please. It's the least I can do for you and your family." I shook my head and pushed the money 

towards 

her palm. "Please take it please." She shook her head and began to speak again. "Actually Joey is 

asking for you both in his room." I gulped and opened my eyes real wide. Could this be the luck I was 

hoping for? I grabbed up Nadia in my arms and flew to Joey's room only to find him fighting with the 

nurse. "Please what the fuck is wrong with me!" I cringed at his hostility. "J-Joey? Is this a bad time?" 

He turned his eyes to me and Nadia and softened up real quick. "Um no nurse could you give us a 

minute?" She nodded scarcely and waddled out of his room. "She was just telling me I have to wait a 

few more weeks until I can leave but I can't not provide for you guys." A tear streamed down my face 

at his kind thoughts. "Joey I have a few things to tell you." He nodded and motioned for me and 

Nadia 

to come closer. "Joey listen. Me and Nadia we lost our house... And we have no money and no where 

to live other then my car which has no gas. I didn't want to stress you..." The look on his face was cold 

and mysterious as if I had just pissed him off even worse. "How could you sit around and wait for an 

asshole like me?" I shook my head the tears now streaming down my face and held his hand tight in 

mine. "Joey because I love you. And you saved me." he turned away and snatched his hand from 

mine. "Alex you took Nadia and left me for years!" He began as he spat. "All I wanted was a baby with 

you! A life! And you took that from me!" I sobbed and held Nadia close to my chest as I tried  my best 

to cover her tiny ears from all of his outbursts. "J-J-Joey you remember?" He turned to look at me the 

fire was raging in his eyes. "Of course I fucking remember. I remembered as soon as I woke up! I 

wanted it to all be a fucking dream! So I played dumb! You're a fucking bitch Alexandria! I wish I never 

fucking met you!" I shook my head as I knew this wasn't him but I had to get out of there but before I 

could leave he began crashing. "M'am we need you to leave." the nurse calmly said as her and her 

team came rushing in with their crash carts to save him. "Okay." Was all I could choke out as I took 

Nadia in my arms and ran far far away from that horrible hospital.
