Already Gone
Her past is hidden. She doesn't remember anything before when she woke up, alone, in a completely empty room. She's been there ever since. All she knows is her name.
Skye.
At least, that's what they called her, when the lights go out. That happens at regular intervals, and then comes the hissing noise, then she becomes too tired to even keep her eyes open as she falls into the comforting blackness of a dreamless sleep.She wakes up and there's food and water, then later the cycle repeats.
She doesn't know where she is, or why she's here, but she does know that something recently has changed. She starts hearing screams coming from outside the room. She suddenly realises that she may not be alone wherever she is. Then, when the lights go out, they make a mistake - the hissing noise doesn't come. She remains wide awake. She knows this is her chance. She knows she can't waste it. So she waits. And when they come... She'll be ready.
