He came back, and I showed him the way out.

How could my heart that has once yearned for him, reject him the moment his eyes showed guilt and remorse? I've forgiven him, but in my eyes now he's not the same man, and I cannot persuade myself into the opposite.

I denied him the second chance, because second chances always make of us two different persons; one that wishes to move on, and one that wants to try again.

How should we know what's right and what's wrong in that case? We shouldn't. We should just take the easier route and cut all contact, and start alone, or with someone new. But never with that person again, because after the war we're never the same.
