Honey.

Hmmm. I sighed sitting in the back of the police car. I swear whenever the police were involved in my life I had just survived being annihilated. I know that sounded harsh but that’s what it felt like to me. Everyone was out to get me. Call me paro but I know for certain I was meant to die on both accounts, it was just my luck. Then it clicked. Nobody in this world could be trusted. No one at all. I was only going to allow room for Kyle in my life. Everyone else was too be brushed off. I couldn’t trust Lamar. What if he was part of this scam? He was out to get me. I knew it. I wasn’t living there anymore. Not when my life was in danger. And Lamar was definitely a danger prone.

'Sorry constable Specimen?'

'Yes love' smiled the police man reassuringly.

'I gave you the wrong address. That is my old address. This is my new one' and I recited Kyle’s address. He told the police men driving and they changed course. I visibly and mentally relaxed. I then got out my phone to text Kyle on my whereabouts and parts of my situation. A few seconds later he replied - 'That’s alright baby'- it said and I smiled.

'Ah there we go the smile we’ve been waiting for all night, boyfriend aye?' Constable raised his eyebrow and laughed.

'Something like that' I sighed back, turning to look out the window. I was recognising the area and knew we would be pulling up in front of Kyle’s house soon. The police man turned to me and stared. It started to grate on my nerves and I turned around plastering a big smile across my face.

‘Yes?’ I questioned slightly irritated.

‘I’m sorry, it’s just you look so much like my good friend’ he said looking ahead. ‘Luke was such a good man’ he said to no one in particular.

My heart froze. That was not what I needed to hear tonight of all nights. Luckily the car had pulled up at the block of flats and I couldn’t stay in that car a second longer. I literally flew out and ran towards the steps. I didn’t turn back, and they didn’t come after me which suited me fine, just fine.

I rang the bell, for the umpteenth time before Kyle came down. He greeted me with a warm smile but it was quickly eradicated from his face when he saw my posture.

‘Where did you go?’ I asked trying to keep my voice from trembling, trying to keep strong. I had replaced my outfit at the station with baggy dirty hand-me-downs and quite frankly I was not pleased in the slightest.

‘I left after you left me to talk to Rae’melle’ he sighed pulling me inside ‘Why what went down, why are you dress like a tramp, I was enjoying the view when you wearing the ‘sex’ dress’ he raised his eyebrows chuckling as if this was all some big joke. And that’s when I cracked. All the anger, hurt, rage, fear, all of them crammed in one big bubble waiting to be unleashed upon the next poor victim to say one wrong word.

‘YOU DON’T KNOW, YOU DON’T KNOW ANYTHING. I STOOD THERE. STOOD THERE AND WATCHED MY CHILDHOOD FRIEND GET SHOT. I…I…HER…SHE…HIM…THEY…ARGH JUST GET OUT I HATE EVERYONE I CANT TRUST ANYONE’ I literally screamed as Kyle stood there awkwardly not knowing what to do. His face was hysterical and for that reason I started laughing. Crying and laughing for reasons unknown to me. I sat down on the floor in the corner crying and giggling every other second. Kyle crouched down to level as I saw worry etched into his face. I was annoyed and he wasn’t helping.
