Movie Critics

Hey everyone its carley345 with your latest movie critics! So our first movie is the Mortal Instruments: City of Bones which came out in theaters August 30th 2013, and let me just say that it was one of the best movies ever! a total favorite. Want to know about it?

‎2hr 0min‎‎ - Rated PG-13‎‎ - Scifi/Fantasy/Action/Adventure‎

Director: Harald Zwart - Cast: Lily Collins, Jamie Campbell Bower, Robert Sheehan, Kevin Zegers, Aidan Turner Set in contemporary New York City, a seemingly ordinary teenager, Clary Fray, discovers she is the descendant of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of young half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons. After the disappearance of her mother, Clary must more »join forces with a group of Shadowhunters, who introduce her to a dangerous alternate New York called Downworld, filled with demons, warlocks, vampires, werewolves and other deadly creatures. Based on the worldwide best-selling book series by Cassandra Clare, The Mortal Instruments is an attention grabbing movie. Now even though this movie is one of my favorite, Sadly I have to say there were a few flaws to this movie. The plot overall is very attention grabbing although at the end the way thay put the plot together was very confusing. The big problem is the adaptation by Jessica Postigo is a jumble of material that could fit in four or five films. Postigo treats the script as if only fans of the book will be in the audience. Instead of clearly explaining this dark and strange world (it's still not clear if demons can or can't be killed), Postigo starts and stops the story. There's more concern with trying to hit all of the high points of the book and the movie suffers for it.So if you can handle that than this is the movie for you! Review: Overall I give this five stars because even though this had major flaws, the movie overall was fantastic!
