Chapter 4: Total Confusion
Morgan's POV
Three weeks have passed since the "babygirl" incident with Garcia
Ever since then every time I try and talk to her all she does is brush me off like I'm the last person on the planet she'd want to be caught talking to. I mean I apologized for my little slip up, she said it was fine, but obviously she was lying because clearly she was still upset about it for some reason and I don't know why.
So I figured I'd go and talk to the only other person she's close to here at the BAU.
"Hey JJ got a minute?" I asked
"Sure what's up hot stuff?" she joked
"Haha, very funny JJ, seriously though I need to ask you something about the new TA" I say
"Who Garcia?" She asks confused
"Nooooo, George Bush! Of course I meant Garcia! Who else?" I basically snap at her
"WOOOOOOOO there Morgan, calm down, what about Garcia has got you like this?" She asks shocked at my tone of voice "Your usually so chill!"
With that I look down at my shoes in shame as I apologize for my harsh tone "I'm sorry JJ, it's just she has got me so frustrated and confused, I don't know what I'm doing anymore"
"What about her has got you so up tight and not yourself? JJ asked concern evident in her voice
"I don't know" I say honestly "It's just remember the incident I told you about on her second week here when we had that case about the missing little girl from Portland?
"How could I forget about that case, I didn't sleep for a week afterward. I kept worrying about something happening to Henry" she says reminiscing about the past
"Don't worry JJ nothing will happen to Henry, you, Will, me and the rest of the team won't let anything happen to him, and any of us would die trying to protect him" I reassure her
"Thank you Morgan!" she beamed
"My pleasure JJ! I replied
"So anyway, finish what you were saying earlier about Garcia" she encouraged
I sighed deeply and continued on "Well I saw her breakdown, so I tried to comfort her, but considering she'd only been here for a couple weeks and I hadn't learned her name yet. So the only name I could think of was "babygirl". No doubt it got her attention but it only seemed to make her mad at me, like I offended her in some way, and I have no idea why. I mean I didn't mean anything by it, I was just trying to be nice and get her attention. And ever since then we haven't talked and she always tries to avoid me "
JJ smiled apologetically at me and embraced me in a friendly hug "I'm sorry Morgan, I have no idea what to say, I mean from what I've seen of her, Garcia seems like a genuinely nice person. I have no idea why she's treating you with the cold shoulder. Maybe you calling her "babygirl" brought back some painful memories, and she has just been trying to avoid you so she can avoid more painful memories coming back"
Now that I think of it maybe JJ has a point, maybe what I said brought back bad memories for Garcia, and she's trying to avoid me in case I remind her of anymore she's trying to forget about
"Thanks Jage! You know maybe your right, maybe what I said to her did bring back stuff from her past, maybe I should go apologize again and see if I can make things better between us" I decided
"No problemo pal anytime! And yea go and apologize to her again and tell her you meant nothing by it, and that if there is anyway you can make it up to her then you will, and also if you want I can talk to her and see what's up and tell her about the misunderstanding" JJ offered
"Once again thank you JJ! I'd greatly appreciate that!" I thanked her for about the billionth time
"Oh for the love of god Morgan! Stop thanking me! You know I'd do it in a heart beat for you, you didn't even really have to ask I kind of already knew what was bugging you, but your welcome anyway!"
"H.... How did you figure out what was bugging me?" I asked her as I felt my cheeks go hot and red
"Oh come on Morgan it was so obvious that you had feelings for Garcia from the very minute you met her on her first day. So when I over heard what went on that day, and the way she reacted to it, it wasn't that hard to put two and two together and figure out what was buggin you"
"Oh god! I'm really that obvious aren't I! I hope to god that's not why she's avoiding me, cuz she figured out I..... and she" I really started to freak out then
"Hold up there Morgan, you mean to tell me you actually do like her!" JJ cut me off short "I was only kidding when I said that I knew that you liked her and that she was the reason why your acting weird! I had no idea you actually had feelings for her! But hey I'm not gunna judge! Actually I think you guys would look really cute together!"
With that I started turning red as a beet. I didn't want anyone finding out I had feelings for my co-worker. I mean it's not even allowed for two people in the same workplace to like each other let alone two FBI agents having feelings for each other, well in this case it's just me but hey, you get my drift. Man I have got to stop talking to myself, it's creeping me out and I bet it's creeping everyone else around me out too
"Promise you won't say anything to anyone especially her about this!" I practically beg
"Cross my heart and hope to die! Your secret is safe with me! Just don't keep it to yourself too long, she deserves to know and who knows she may like you back!" She says heading off to her office
"Thanks" I thank her but roll my eyes at what she said
After both me and JJ part ways, I head off to my own office and take a break from everything and think about my next move and how I'm ever going to approach Garcia, apologize but yet keep my feelings in check. I know for sure this next I'd say month and a half is going to be one of the toughest I've ever had to deal with in my whole life
Well there you have it people Ch. 4!
