Chapter 12: It's Time To P-A-R-T-Y!
JJ'S POV
Myself, Prentiss, Reid, Rossi, and Hotch, were all at the BAU finishing the last minute preparations for Garcia's surprise welcome home party
The entire BAU bullpen was completely decorated from the floor to the ceiling with streamers and balloons all of them having 'WELCOME HOME' written on it
"Phew! Well now that's all done, all we have to do is wait for the lady of the hour" I say falling back into one of the chairs in the bullpen
"Everything looks amazing JJ! I'm sure Penelope will love it!" Prentiss tells me
"I hope so. Has anyone heard from them yet?" I question "Derek texted an hour ago and said that they were leaving the hospital and coming straight here"
"Nope, I haven't heard a word from either of them" Prentiss replied
"Neither have I" Reid agreed
"Me and Hotch haven't heard anything" says Rossi "I'm sure Penelope probably just wanted to go home and freshen up after being in the hospital for so long before coming here and facing everyone again. I'm sure they'll be here shortly"
Not even five minutes after Rossi finished speaking, Derek walks through the door, looking rather preoccupied by his thoughts. I wonder what's up, and where's Penelope?
"Hey" Derek says half smiling at us
"Hey, where's Penelope?" I question concerned
He sighs "Well, on the way here we got into bit of an argument and she wanted to go home. So that's what I did. She didn't even want to come here at first after the argument, but I convinced her to come. So now she's back home getting ready and she'll make her appearance once she gets ready and arrives here"
"If she's not feeling up to it right now, we can always throw her a party later when she's ready" Reid pipes up
"Yea, Reid's right, she doesn't have to come, the party can wait until she's feeling better. We all understand" Prentiss second
"I'll give her a call and see what she wants us to do" I said, walking off to call Penelope
Morgan's POV
I arrive at the BAU alone, and immediately everyone is concerned because Penelope's not here 'Don't worry guys, I'm fine thanks for asking' I think to myself
JJ walks away to call Penelope after everyone calms down and stops asking questions and assuming she's not coming when she's probably on her way here right now
I sit in a chair next to my desk in the bullpen when I notice Reid approach me "Hey kid, what's up?"
"Oh you know, same ol same ol. You look like you could use someone to talk to, what's up?" he asks
That's the thing I like about Reid, no matter the situation, he's always willing to try and give a helping hand
I sigh "Ever since the shooting all I can think about is something like that happening again, which makes me constantly nervous. Especially when Penelope's around me because I feel like it's my fault that she got shot in the first place. If something were to happen to her because of me, Reid, I swear to god I don't know what I'll do"
"She's strong Morgan, it's going to take a lot to take her out, but she'll get through this with flying colors. Besides, she has you to protect her, she's really lucky to have someone like you" Reid says
I smile "Thanks Pretty Boy"
He rolls his eyes and walks away
"I'm here!" I hear someone say and I look up to see Penelope walk through the bullpen doors, a bright smile appearing on my face
"Welcome back Penelope" Hotch says smiling
"We missed you" JJ says
"Some of us more than others" Reid chuckles looking back at me
I sigh and roll my eyes making my way over to them "Welcome back Babygirl"
She smiles brightly, pulling me to her side "It's good to be back handsome, I missed this place"
"Hold up, are you two together now?" Rossi questions
I see Penelope's cheeks turn a bright shade of red "Yea, I guess we are"
"Well it's about time!" JJ declares
"Congrats you guys" Prentiss says, smiling
"Looks like we'll have to plan a wedding for you guys" Reid says
I laugh "We just got together kid, don't make hasty decisions yet"
"Don't you wanna marry me handsome?" Penelope asks me
"Some day of course I do" I smile
"Good, because so do I" she giggles
"Well let's celebrate, drinks are on me" Hotch smiles offering each of the girls a glass of champagne, an each of us guys a beer
"Thanks Hotch" I say as he hands me mine and I down it quickly "Time for another!"
"Well now, someone likes their alcohol don't they?" Penelope laughs
"Yup!" I grin, downing my second beer and opening up a third
"Careful Garcia, Morgan may try to get some at the end of the night" Reid laughs, clearly starting to feel the effects of the beers he's consumed
I roll my eyes at him "I'm perfectly fine thank you very much"
"Derek, you are not fine" Penelope sighs then walks out into the hall of the BAU
I follow her "Hey now, what's the matter babygirl? Sure I've had a few beers and I'm a bit tipsy, but I'm fine, I still know who I am and where I am and who you are, I promise"
"Alright then, if you say so" she says leaning against the wall
I bite my lip, looking at her in a tight fitting black dress, red high heels, an her hair in loose curls
"What're you looking at you goof?" she asks chuckling slightly
"Why I'm looking at my sexy girlfriend of course" I say making my way over to her, and pinning her to the wall, kissing her neck, unable to control my want for her
"D-De-Der-Derek, what're you d-d-do-doing?" she stutters out
I laugh "What does it look like I'm doing?"
"Keep going!" she giggles, really starting to give in to me and enjoying herself
I laugh "We can't do anything here silly, how about we go home?"
She nods rapidly, pulling me towards the elevator with her
And that's just what we did. We went home and spent the rest of the day and the night together
