I don't think taking a nap was the smartest idea; I felt even more tired. It was now 6pm and all the kids had arrived and settled in so everyone was sitting in the main cabin waiting for peppy Rebecca to start talking. Glancing over at Taylor, she looked just as tired as me. Leaning her arm on her desk to support her head, I could tell she also regretted napping. "Hi everyone!" Rebecca basically squealed into the mic. "As you all know my name is Rebecca and that is Dean and Haley. We are your seniors for the next nine weeks. I'm so glad you chose Camp Merrimack and we are all going to have a great time. Since everyone has settled we'll get straight into you all getting to know each other. All the campers will be assigned to a small group of team leaders. That's all these cuties to the left in red tees," pointing in our direction. Some of us waved, some of us just sat looking unimpressed. "So without further ado I'll call out your names and which group number you're in and you should find your way over to that table once I am done." All the team leaders were sat at tables in their groups with a numbered flag placed on the table. Whilst names were being called I just stared to my left making sure I kept my eyes off of Taylor.

Before I knew it the campers were all standing up and walking towards us. Eight kids walked in the direction of Silver, Rick and myself. Standing in a line some of them looked happy whilst others had clearly been forced to come here. Smiling amongst ourselves, Silver, Rick and I stood up and introduced ourselves and the campers did the same. Rick was a pretty tall guy. Standing around 6 ft 2 he towered over all the campers and both Silver and myself. "You guys are all small, except you mate," pointing to the rather tall boy standing at the end with his hands in his pocket. "These are clearly your children you could even be my dad." Silver began giggling to the side of me but everyone else stared blankly at Rick. "Tough crowd," he mumbled scratching the back of his neck. I shook my head at his failed attempt and told everyone to take a seat. We had five girls in our group and three boys. We spoke amongst ourselves over dinner laughing at the newly named 'Roke' (jokes told by Rick). The campers were actually really cool kids. Obviously a bit miserable, but what 13 year-old wasn't. We each told stories about ourselves and generally conversation flowed with ease. Every now and again I'm sure Taylor kept looking my way, but I wasn't brave enough to glance, a part of me just hoped she was. Once the food had settled in our rather appreciative stomachs it was time for another bonding session. I think this is just an excuse for the seniors to act as silly as the campers or even more so. But according to them it was so the campers could feel comfortable around each other.

"Okay campers, everyone get into pairs with someone outside your group!" peppy Rebecca screamed while standing on a chair." And team leaders you too! And one of you lucky lot will have to be paired up with me." With those words all the team leaders shot up, looking around to grab a partner. Great it looks like I was going to be stuck with Rebecca. Sighing in defeat I was getting ready to walk in Rebecca's direction until someone grabbed onto my arm. "Hey do you mind pairing with me?" Turning round, Taylor was looking down at me with that mesmerising smile. I couldn't help but smile back before realising I was just staring. "Yeah sure."
"Cool," she replied calmly before bursting out into laughter. Turning round quickly I looked around to find out what was so funny and then I worked it out. Standing by Rebecca was Rick with his arms crossed looking the least bit impressed. Laughing I caught eye contact with him, immediately causing him to stick his tongue out. He was so mature.

We played silly bonding games for around two and a half hours before everyone decided it was definitely time for bed. Being partnered with Taylor wasn't so bad. She realised how little coordination I had, which she found highly amusing and we both sucked at paired sherades. We even awkwardly fell on one another whilst playing twister, which caused me to blush every time she looked at me for the rest of the games we played. It was now ten and everyone was heading back to their cabins. Walking with Silver and Rick, Silver couldn't help but tease Rick about how he was clearly flirting with Rebecca the entire time, which Rick continuously denied even though he was bright red. Saying bye to them I headed off to the right before knocking on the cabin door.
