Hermione's P.O.V.

"Ginny? Are you still awake?" I asked.

I heard Ginny turn around in her bed. She sat facing me.

"Yeah. I'm awake."

"I can't believe we can't go to New York for our summer!" I complained.

"Seriously?" Ginny stared at me with her mop of red hair in front of her face.

She blew hard on her hair and flew back in place. She spoke some simple words and her hair returned to normal.

I stared at Ginny and she said, "simple hair charm." 

"Righhhhhhhhhht." I said. 

"Anyway what do you mean seriously?" I questioned.

"We are going to New York silly." Ginny chuckled.

"We are?!" I said, confused.

"Yeah we are." Ginny said. "When my dad leaves for work we will sneak out and apparate to New York."

"Duuuhhh." Ginny said as it was all obvious.

"Well..." I said. "Won't your mom be mad?"

"Oh don't worry Hermione! It'll be fine!" Ginny reassured.

"In the morning we can talk. But tonight we have to sleep."

"Alright." I said.

I never liked to break the rules. I was a rule follower. I couldn't help it.

But if we were going to have a fun summer....

Well it would be worth it. We could go to the Statue of Liberty and see the strawberry farms and eat American food.

It would be fun I reassured myself. Right?

Yeah. I'm positive.

Ginny sighed contently in her sleep and I smiled.

Time to fall asleep myself.....

"Hey guys! How did you sleep last night?" Ginny said cheerfully.

"Decent." Harry and Ron said at the same time.

"Well I slept great!" Ginny smiled brightly.

"Who cares what we slept like?" Ron said.

"As long as I get me some breakfast I'll be good."

Hermione, Harry, and Ginny laughed.

"I hope mum is ok," Ron said hopefully.

"Hello dears," Mrs. Weasley said cheerfully.

She walked by, waving her wand and a plate of light, crispy bacon and fluffy eggs appeared on the table along with a platter of biscuits with all kinds of jams and preserves.

"Mmmm." Ron said.

He took a seat and started piling bacon and eggs on his plate.

He munched on a biscuit and looked up to our bewildered faces.

"How are you always so hungry?" Hermione exclaimed.

"It's in the family." Ron said.

"So," Ginny caught our attention. "When do we leave for New York?"

"New York?" Ron said.

"But you heard mum. We can't go."

"Seriously?" George had just apparated into the kitchen.

"Listen to Gin here," he teased.

"Or is ickkle Ronnykins afraid to get caught by his mumsy?"

Ron turned bright red and said, "I agree."

"We should go."

He shot George a death stare.

George chuckled and disapparated with a biscuit in his hand.

"Guys I don't think breaking your mums rule is a good idea."

"She can get really mad." Harry said.

"Oh come on Harry!" Hermione said.

"Hermione?" Harry said with a look of surprise. "I thought you would be on my side."

"But just think!

We could go see the beautiful strawberry farms and the statue of liberty and..."Hermione droned on with a smile on her face.

"Uggh." Harry sighed. "I guess its 3 to 1."

"Fine, we will go to New York."

"Yay!" Ginny said. She pecked Harry on the cheek.

"So," Ginny said.

"Right before dad leaves for work we will volunteer to de gnome the garden."

"But I hate doing that."Ron moaned.

"We're not actual going to do it Ron!" Ginny exclaimed, face palming herself.

"We write a note to mum saying blah went on vacation see you later blah blah blah."

"Then we put it on the table and when dad leaves for work we apparate to New York!" Ginny finished.

"Easy." Harry said.

"Ok!" Hermione said.

"Wait I have a question!" Ron said.

"Why do we have to do it after dad leaves?"

"So one less person to be mad at us when we leave!" Ginny said in exasperation as if it all made sense.

"Fine." Ron said. "But can I at least finish eating breakfast?"

"You'll never finish eating breakfast!" Hermione said with a giggle. "You eat too much!"

"Quiet now," Ginny said. "Here comes mum."

"Mum?"

"Yes Ginny dear?" Mrs. Weasley said.

"Can we all go out and de gnome the garden?" Ginny asked innocently.

"Why of course you can!" Mrs. Weasley brightened at the thought they were going to help clean.

"Ok mum we will be going now." Ginny and Ron chorused.

Ginny had one foot out the door when Mrs.Weasly said, "Wait. Hold up. Ginny dear.."

Ginny sighed and looked at Mrs.Weasly.

"Yes mum?"

"You kids have fun."

"We will!" Harry yelped and they were out the door.

"That was close." Hermione said.

Ginny asked, "Harry did you put the note down?"

"Yes Ginny."

"Good, time to apparate."

"Everyone take hold of me."

Everyone touched Ginny.

Ginny apparated. And in a flash, they were in New York.
