poem inspired by nickelback. written April 4, 2009, 12:19 PM

ever miss the past

what happened before never seems to last

even when you know you can live without it

it's just a memory

i wouldn't doubt it

the good times that turned bad

or were lost in the moment

one day you're over it

the next day you're devoted

you want to change it back

like it all was before

it wouldn't work out

no one's like that anymore

each memory of sneaking out the side door

sitting in the parking lot outside the 7-11 door

it's time to move on

time to move on

goodbye years

goodbye years

each memory of laying in the street with you

throwing rocks in the barrel, always missing

the shots, the memories.

up at waite's with you.

goodbye years

goodbye years.

i wonder if you think about it

when you're out there.

do you even miss it?

did this mean anything to you?

or am i overreacting?

last night i was outside your house.

remembering the nights that were relaxing.

each memory of sneaking out the side door

sitting in the parking lot outside the 7-11 door

it's time to move on

time to move on

goodbye years

goodbye years

each memory of talking online with you

the conversations that never seemed to end

it's time to move on

time to move on

goodbye years

goodbye years

each memory of walking through the night with you

i still remember how everything looked from the view

it's time to move on

time to move on

goodbye years

goodbye years

i wonder if we could relive the past

back to those nights that wouldn't last

do you think we will ever

have another chance for that?
