[ 25 ] Part 2

Sherlyn's POV

"I'm not his girlfriend, Sherlyn. I am his best friend."

Laking pagkabigla ko nang marinig ko iyon sa kanya. Halos hindi rumerehistro sa utak ko ang mga sinabi niya.

"A-Ano?"

"Sherlyn, I will tell you everything but please listen. You heard it right. I'm just his best friend. There's just a reason why we have to say that we are a couple. There's a reason why he asked you to just trust him."

Hindi ko pa rin alam kung anong itutugon ko sa mga sinasabi niya. Nanatili lang akong tahimik at hinintay ang muli niyang pagsasalita.

"He agreed na magpanggap kami because he wants to protect me and my boyfriend against my Mom. I'm so sorry, dahil sa akin kaya kailangang itago niya sa'yo ang totoo. But seeing him like hell now, I really feel guilty. He should not be like this."

Yumuko siya at napailing pa. Hindi ko maipaliwanag kung ano ang nararamdaman ko sa oras na ito pero hindi ako ganoon katigas na tao para hindi makita ang sincerity niya. Hinawakan ko ang dalawang kamay niya and there, she looked at me.

"Sherlyn, please believe me. He loves you so much. You brought the old Paul back to us. Ang Paul na akala namin ay tuluyan nang nawala kasabay ng pagkawala rin nina Tito Alex and Tita Miandra."

Gulong-gulo pa rin akong nakatingin sa kanya.

"P-Pero bakit kailangan niyong magpanggap?"

She sighed.

"Three years ago, I was on the top of my career. I'm also making my own name in the fashion industry. All of them were happy, except si Mommy. She's against in all of my decisions but I'm so lucky to have Dad and Paul na talagang nasa likod ko all the time. And then one day, when I was doing a contract with a magazine, I met this guy. He's actually the photographer sa photoshoot ko that time.  Then, we fell in love with each other. We became official and si Paul lang ang nakakaalam about it.

I don't know how Mommy found out about my relationship with James, my boyfriend. I guess through her connections? And she got mad. She doesn't like James because of his job and his family background. The hell I care! Sinubukan kong ipagtanggol si James and the next thing I knew... James' life was in danger."

Hindi ko napigilang mapasinghap sa mga sinasabi ng kapatid ko.

"Gusto ni Mommy si Paul for me and she will do everything just to get rid of James out of my life! I love him so much at ayaw kong mapahamak siya just because of my evil mother. That's why I asked Paul na magpanggap kami, maalis lang ang atensyon ni Mommy kay James. And that's what happened after niyang malaman na kami na ni Paul. Tinigilan na niya si James."

"K-Kayo pa rin nitong J-James?"

"Yes."

Mas lalo akong naguluhan sa sagot niya.

"Then... why..."

"Why did you saw us in his office that night?" Putol niya sa sinabi ko.
