He called men to freedom,

And he was killed,

He spoke for the Truth,

So his blood was spilled.

Don't they realize, that

All their acts

Can never rip up an idea,

However great attacks?

Don't they know that

All they struggle for

Will die in this world,

Will not stand in store?

Do they think, that

By revamping history,

They can mutilate the Truth,

Shackle the free?

Yes, they try all that they can,

To snuff out the Light.

No, in their ignorance, they don't understand,

That wrongs can never outrun the Right.

He was true,

And the Lord Knows best,

May He grant him

A grand station in Paradise,

For what a great striving-

Only life sacrificed!
