Fragile but strong,
On her voyage of life,
In defense of the Truth
She sailed along.
The heart perturbed,
The soul in need
Of the Light that shall
Heal the disturbed.
Such wrong in man,
Such inhumanity,
Such evil she saw
Boundless in span.
'Wait till when?
Useless how long?
Lord, O Lord!
If not now, when, then?
'Lies, corruption,
Immorality in root,
Now the tree's so corrupt,
How am I to shun?
'I falter so much,
And these people so wrong,
You're my sole support,
Really? No human crutch?
'You are truly enough
For me; why, so much more,
But it hurts that my people
Are - mostly - versions of bluff.
My Lord, Lord of the heavens and the earth,
Little good men in this fickle world.
Lord, oh, make us of the best of Your slaves!
And Your Pleasure, on the Day, for us never in dearth!'
