The next day, after Maria... happened, I woke up to gray skies and rain pounding on the pavement. And I remember.

It's my birthday.

Don't ask me how the orphanage knows when I was born. I guess they just do.

And I really wish it wasn't this day. Not today. My 13 birthday was supposed to be a celebration, but for me it's going to be a day to grieve. I don't want any presents either.

The only present I want is Maria.

I want her back. I miss when we used to talk. I really need someone to talk to. Call me selfish, but it's one of the things I miss the most about her. But obviously she wasn't coming back.

Instead of remembering memories of her and crying my eyes out, I get up out of bed and do my normal morning routine: wash up, get dressed, wake up the rest of the kids, clean bathroom, eat, get the kids to school, and go to school.

This is good. Routine is good. It helps you get your mind off things.

A/N: sorry for a kinda dull chapter, its just a filler. thanks for reading!
