-My Old Friend-

hello darkness, my old friend

it's an aching reassurance

to know I still have you above all else to confide in

when the light faded

and I had no where to turn,

it was your shadow that I followed

only with the comfort that you were both closely related

but darkness, my old friend

I am not here to have a short chat;

I'm calling out for help,

I need to know where my heart's allegience is at

their backs are all to me,

I cannot see one single face

though I know they have grown so desperatley weary

please, darkness, my old friend

you must make them pivot and see

that not only are they drowning in oblivion,

but so are we
