INTERVIEW WITH AUTHOR OF SUMMER SOLCTICE.

Loveya4ever : Describe yourself.

Abagail Frost :  I’m random.  {laughing}  I’m pretty average I guess.  I’m 5’4”,  brownish red hair, I like to wear jeans and t-shirts all the time. And sneakers, there’s nothing better than a comfy pair of shoes.  I’m American and from the western coastline. I live in the middle of nowhere in Oregon. {laughs again}  there are a lot of places like that in Oregon, if you’re driving by and you blink, you’ll miss it.

Loveya4ever : Can you name a few of your favorite things (food, books etc) and why you like them?

Abagail Frost :  Favorite foods:  I’d say it’s a tie between Italian and Orient influenced cuisine, but I’m really addicted to anything with seafood in it.  I go to the beach as often as possible, just for the food.  Favorite ‘bad for you’ foods: anything salty, it’s an addiction. I  will just randomly need something salty for no reason at all. Note: chips and salsa are my downfall.  As far as sweet things:  I’d have to say Pocky.  It’s this kind of biscuit stick dipped in chocolate, my friend got me hooked on it when she was in Japan.  Pocky is good dipped in creamy peanut butter {NOT CHUNKY} I’m not addicted to chocolate, but if I do need it, it’s Pocky or Lindor truffles by Lindt.  Plain candy?  Peachy Rings.  Not sure if they have anything to do with actual peaches, but they’re good.  ;)

Favorite hobbies:  writing, that’s just a given.  I love writing things down and making something out of nothing.  I see a blank page as a challenge.  But I also love anything to do with art.  I draw, sculpt, paint, use charcoals and watercolors. Most of my artwork is drawings though, I’ve even been asked to draw tattoos for people, though that might sound strange.  I also sew, and make jewelry.  I made a replica of a renaissance dress similar to the one Drew Barrymore wore at the end of Ever After.  I really got into making it and hand stitched beadwork on the bodice and sleeve covers.  That was the best Halloween ever.

Favorite place: The beach, anywhere on the beach.    Favorite music: ROCK.  I also listen to alternative and other sorts of music, but rock is my all time

favorite.  I also listen to classical music.  Yeah, I <3 Chopin, Bach & Mozart, there’s nothing wrong

with loving the classics.    Favorite books: I have so many favorites, but authors that I collect full series of: Lynsay Sands,

Sherrilyn Kenyon, Gena Showalter, Laurell K Hamilton.

Loveya4ever : Who or what is your inspiration?

Abagail Frost : My inspiration for reading: I remember reading a book when I was in middle school, called ‘Ferrets in the Bedroom, Lizards in

the Fridge’ by Bill Wallace. It was the silliest book, but did more than make me laugh, it made me

think.  It was the first book I’d ever read that I appreciated.  I could relate to a pre-teen girl with a silly

nickname and having pets that were obnoxious.  It was also the first book I ever read more than

once.   My inspiration for writing: Right now it’s music and the people in my everyday life.  Before now, it was just kind of my escape.

I grew up in a small town, with a population of around 500 people.  I wasn’t very good at sports, but

I was good at art, and when I couldn’t do something artsy, I’d write in a notebook.  A lot of my notes

were more like poems or prose, but then the writing became longer, and I started writing stories.

I think I wrote my first short story when I was 15.  I wasn’t really an outsider at school, but I did feel

a bit out of the loop.  I was also bullied for a few years in high school. Since I was kind of shy and

quiet, I didn’t really know how to handle that kind of pressure, so whenever I had the chance…

out came the notebook.  I wrote a lot those years.  Most of the time I was writing in my room with

my ear glued to my radio, drowning myself in the music.  So my teenage heartache, that’s what I

wrote about first.  I guess I just grew up and matured from there.

Loveya4ever : What do you want to be when you grow up and why?

Abagail Frost : Lol, I guess I’m grown up now.  When I was younger I wanted my own art gallery.  I

loved art almost more than music {laughs again}  Okay, maybe not more than music.  And yes, I like

all kinds of art, from classics to contemporary, impressionism, whatever it is, doesn’t matter.  If it’s

someone expressing themselves, I’m loving it.  I collect prints, I have one of Monet’s Water Lilies.

I love pencil and paint, and own a few prints of Norman Rockwell and Jody Bergsma.  I am

absolutely addicted to my camera, I take pictures of everything.  My camera is the second best way

 for me to express myself.

Loveya4ever : What book do you think you would want to write next and why?

Abagail Frost : I’ve already outlined the three sequels to Summer Solstice, I should probably work on

those.  I might take a break from the series though and finish Hold My Hand.  It’s a really lovely

story and I wish I’d finished it first before posting S.S.  The only other one I’ve outlined and that I‘d

like to post for my fans is a fiction/fantasy called The Wars Of Evermist.  Whenever I get writers

block on Andrea’s story, that‘s what I work on.

Loveya4ever : Do you have any other comments to your readers?

Abagail Frost : I love you guys!  I appreciate each and every one of you and I wish that I could write

all the time for you.  I read all of your Watt comments and messages, which are linked to my

personal email account, so I get them the moment you write them.  I may not be able to reply

to every single one, but please know that I read them.  Yes, I’m a mom, I work full time, so I’m always

busy. Please know that writing is more than just a hobby for me, it is my passion.  I will always keep

writing, until my ink runs dry. <3

Loveya4ever : Are there any books you'd like to recommend to your readers?

Abagail Frost : Wow, that is such a hard question to answer. I actually stopped reading books when

I started posting Summer Solstice.  I told myself I wouldn’t read another until I finished my own.

Slightly tragic, since I’m addicted to books. I read on average about fifty to sixty a year.

And don’t drop a jaw or anything, I can speed read pretty fast, the average book usually takes

me a day and a half to read. ;)

Loveya4ever : Thanks for your time!

Abagail Frost : You’re welcome, thank you for asking!
