Chapter 7

Aria's POV:

After talking with Josh I was in a much better mood. I guess he was just one of those people that made you feel better without trying to. As I entered the elevator I released a deep breath. I still hadn't talked to Charlie and I just hoped he was in the dorm room. The bell dinged, signalling I was on my floor and Luke was leaning against the wall. He smirked when he saw me and I rolled my eyes.

"Is that all you do? Just stand there and wait for me?"

"Nah babe, Josh told me you were coming."

"Oh, well I guess I know who to trust huh." He ran a hand through his hair and pulled me towards him. 

"Lets not fight okay."

"We aren't. Now I gotta go, so bye."

"No Aria. Come on I have barely seen you today. Lets go to my place."

"We already talked about this. We just can't be together right now." He scowled and pushed me away from him. I immediately whimpered and his eyes softened. Rejection was all I felt as he shook his head and went inside his dorm while slamming the door. My body began to shake as salty tears cascaded down my face. I ran into my dorm and straight into my bedroom. I slammed the door and locked it so my brothers wouldn't be able to come in. As I spun around I saw Charlie sprawled out on my bed with a look of concern on his face. He patted the spot next to him and I quickly climbed under the covers, while burying my face in his chest. Charlie rubbed my back soothingly and whispered sweet nothings into my ear. As I began to calm down I looked up at him with blurry eyes. He wiped the tears from my cheeks and kissed my nose. 

"Are you okay Cupcake?" I shook my head and he leaned his forehead against mine. I could feel his warm breath fan my face and the aroma of coffee filled my nose. My eyes immediately closed as his lips pressed against mine. It was a short kiss as he pulled away and looked into my eyes as if he were searching for something. At the moment it didn't matter to me, I just wanted him closer. 

My finger latched into his hair as I pulled his mouth back to mine. Our lips moved in sync as he rolled on top of me. I let out a moan as he began sucking on my neck and his finger traced circles on my legs. Slowly, his hands crept farther up until he unhooked my bra and quickly pulled my shirt off. I didn't complain as I ripped his off as well and ran my hands over his stomach, down to his belt. 

Just as I began to undo it he put his hand on top of mine. I looked into his eyes and saw something I wish I hadn't. He looked pained and confused. Did he not want me either? A whole new wave of rejection managed to find its way into my body as I quickly pushed him off of me and pulled my shirt back on. Charlie looked at me with regret and I thought my heart would shatter. He reached out to me, but I scooted away from him. 

"Come here Aria."

"No Char. You hate me just like he does."

"I love you cupcake, but I don't want you to do anything you'll regret and I know you would if we did it right now. He would be extremely pissed and you wouldn't ever forgive yourself."

"Charlie you didn't see the way he looked at me. He's done with me and I just wanted to be with someone I love."

"Aria trust me okay, I love you and would love to do that with you. I can't hurt you like that though. You're just depressed and will be better tomorrow, I promise. Now come here and lets just cuddle." I nodded, too tired to fight and crawled back over to him. He wrapped his arms around my waist and sighed. Eventually I fell asleep and hoped it would be better the next day.

The sun streamed in through the window and I could feel someone breathing down my neck. A small shiver travelled down my spine as I spun myself around to face a sleeping Charlie. I couldn't help but smile at his innocent face. He looked so peaceful with his hair slightly messed up and his eyes closed. His breathing was even and I slowly crept out of the bed. I went into the bathroom and quickly peed. Then I looked into the mirror and frowned. My eyes were puffy from all the crying and my lips were slightly swollen. You could see the tears that fell down my cheeks and it made me feel even more depressed. I knew I didn't have much time because our class was early.

I splashed some water on my face and applied some make up to make myself look better. I quickly ran a brush through my hair to get the knots out and then decided to find something hot to wear. Even though I felt like crawling into a ditch, I wanted Luke to regret making me feel the way he did. It was slightly hypocritical because in a way he was just doing what I asked, but I couldn't help myself.

Skipping to my closet as quietly as possible I stepped inside. I grinned as I looked around and tried to find something perfect. Nothing looked as perfect as the black tank top I had. It was ripped all over the place, but enough to cover the necessities. It had gold letters that read 'Wild.' I matched it with my shortest pair of shorts and a gold belt. Then I picked out a pair of black converse and fluffed up my hair one more time before getting Charlie. 

As I walked out of the closet I saw Charlie sitting on my bed wearing a pair of khaki shorts and a black shirt that hugged his muscles. I bit my lip and took in his appearance one more time before letting out a whistle which caused his eyes to snap to mine. I smirked as his eyes raked my body before settling back on my face. He looked shocked and happy all at once. 

"Wow cupcake... You look amazing."

"That's the plan. You look pretty damn good yourself Char." He smirked and nodded his head.

"Of course I do. Don't I always?" I giggled and nodded my head while grabbing his hand and pulling him out the door. He groaned as I pulled him out the door and into the elevator while frantically pushing the button to close. Luck seemed to be on my side as the elevator doors shut, leaving Charlie and I alone in the elevator. 

"I didn't even get to eat cupcake."

"Yeah well we can't be late. Class starts in ten minutes and I'm not risking my grade so you can eat." He pouted and I giggled while tapping his nose. The elevator door opened and Charlie kept his hand in mine as we walked side by side laughing. It was nice to have my bestfriend back and I hoped I would never have him mad at me again.

My wolf whimpered when she saw Luke with a girl draped on his arm. Her blonde hair cascaded down her back as her bright blue eyes stared at him with love. She was beautiful and I didn't feel as if I could compare to her. My stomach clenched as his eyes locked with mine and he smirked. Tears threatened to escape, but I took a deep breath and flashed him a seductive grin back. I held Charlie's hand tighter and leaned onto his side. We walked slow and full of confidence as Charlie would whisper jokes into my ear and purposely flick his tongue out when he spoke. It made me laugh and blush because I truly did love Charlie. Maybe not in the way I loved Luke, but there was something there. 

Once we were out of sight Charlie asked me if I was okay and I assured him I could handle it. It wasn't as if it was something I had never dealt with before. Highschool was full of drama just like this, but you had to hold your head high and act like you were on top of the world even if you felt nothing like that. 

We got to the class quickly and Charlie lead us to the back of the room. I was grateful he understood me so well and took his seat beside me. He messed around with me until the teacher walked in and I sighed. He had curly light brown hair with hazel eyes that screamed curiosity. He was shaved perfectly making him look much younger, almost our age, but his body was well built like all werewolves.

"Hello class I am Professor Reeves and will be teaching you math this year. I hope you guys are as excited as I am." The whole class burst out into a fit of giggles at this and I couldn't help but join them. It was so typical for a teacher to love what they taught, but no student enjoyed it like they did.
