CHAPTER 1

"Hey Denise." He smiled

"Hey doofus." I laughed

"What's the bestie up too? Stalking her crush?" He asked

"Nope, I don't have one." I whispered

"Oh, wanna grab a bite to eat after school?" He asked

"Sure, so what do you have next?"

"Athletics, what about you?"

"Math"

"Haha sucks for you!" He laughed

"Whatever, go to class!" I laughed

"Okay mom!" He joked

I walked to my locker, and Dave walked to athletics to be honest I kinda like math. Well when I understand it...usually Dave has to help me with the homework, but that's not that bad...mainly because he's my best friend.

I walked into math class and sat down in the back corner, I don't like to sit at the front of the class; it feels like I'm the center of attention when I sit up front . Sitting next to me is my friend Annie. She was a Goodie-Two-Shoes. We were different in many ways, but we were both fascinated with The Wanted. We always talk about them, when we're at lunch we talk about them a lot, and Dave just looks at us weirdly. She's also the only one that knows about my crush on Dave.

"So have you told him yet?"

"Told who what yet?"

"Don't play stupid, tell him!"

"But what if he doesn't like me back?"

"Well then he'll be missing out on an amazing girl!"

"I don't know, I'm nervous."

"About what?!"

"That he won't like me back!" I whispered

I was still talking to Annie when the bell rang, "Annie wait!" Shouted

"So what are you nervous about, I forgot...?" She smirked

"That he won't like me back!" I exclaimed

"That who won't like you back?" He asked

"Holy shit Dave! Don't sneak up on me like that!!!!" I screamed

"Sorry, but who do you like? Maybe I can hook y'all up." Dave chuckled

"Erm...uh...Jake?" I awkwardly laughed

"Shit, baby girl you don't want him. He's a player, he screws every girl he dates. So I don't approve of that relationship." Dave said sternly

"Thanks for the warning." I smiled

"No prob, I just don't want to see you get hurt."

After our awkward chat we walked into the cafeteria and waited in line. We were just standing there talking, when Ashley walked up. Ashley is Dave's ex, and lets just say, well she freaking hates me. All through their relationship she was trying to get him to stop being my friend, but he wouldn't let her.

"Hey Denise, why don't you get away from my boyfriend, and find yourself one?" She asked

"I think the correct term is EX boyfriend." I said emphasizing the EX part

"Oh, Dave didn't tell you? We're back together." She smirked

"What?"

"Denise, I'm really sorry, I forgot to tell you." Dave apologized

I walked away trying to hold back the tears that were threatening to pour out at any second

"Denise! Wait!"
