''I'm sooo done with you Asshole!!'' I yelled at my stepdad.

''Don't ever talk to me like that Ashlynn!'' He screamed back.

''Why not?! Your not my father. Your just some dickwad my mom felt sorry for!''

''Get out of my house!!!'' He yelled at me.

''Gladly. You fucker!!'' I yelled over my shoulder as I went upstairs to get my stuff.

I pulled out my iPhone. I called the first person I could think of.

''Austin!!''

''What?! Ashlynn what's wrong?!?!?!'' Austin yelled into the phone.

He can tell when something's wrong just by the tone of my voice. One reason he was my bestfriend.

''Come to the park across from my house and pick me up.''

''I will be there in ten minutes.''

I hung up.

I put all of my essential things into my bag and ran to the park.

Five minutes later I heard Austin.

''Ashlynn?!'' He yelled running over to me.

''Austin.'' I dug my face in his neck. I let all the tears flow.

''What happened?!''

''Marcus. He's such an asshole.''

''Shh,'' Austin cooed. ''It's ok babygirl. Everything's ok.''

When Austin called me babygirl, it made me feel secure. It made me feel wanted by someone.

We got in Austin's car and drove to his house, which is almost across town.

''Mom!! I'm home!!'' Austin yelled through the house.

''I'm in here Austin!!'' She yelled back from the kitchen.

''Is it ok if Ashlynn stays here. For a little while?''

''Sure honey. Stay as long as you want Ashlynn.'' She gave me a hug and a warm smile.

''Thanks Michele.'' I smiled and started walking up to Austin's room.

''So, what happened this time?'' Austin asked.

I heard a bottle smash downstairs. My stepdad, Marcus, was wasted. When he was wasted, you definitely didn't want to be around him.

I walked downstairs.

''Can you please, shut the fuck up Marcus?!'' I yelled at him.

''Why? Does Ashey need her sleep?'' He replied.

''First never call me Ashey. And second, if you don't mind, I do need my sleep!'' I screamed back.

''That's it you little shit!'' He walked over to me.

I could smell the alchohol.

''Get the fuck away Marcus!!''

And you know how it went from there.

''Wow.'' Was all Austin could say.

''I know. Thanks for picking me up.'' I smiled at him.

''Your welcome Ash. Anytime.'' He smiled.

''I'm tired.'' I said yawning.

''I'll take the couch.'' He said getting up.

''Austin.''

''What?'' He turned around.

I patted the bed.

''Are you sure?''

''Yes Austin. I don't have cooties.'' I laughed.

He turned off the light and climbed in bed with me.

He wrapped his arm around my waist protectively.

I felt safe when I was with Austin. I felt like nothing could hurt me.

''Goodnight beautiful.'' Austin whispered in my ear.

''Goodnight.'' I smiled.
