It is important to handcuffing correctly because the police officer or the suspect may get hurt in the process of arresting. One reason why you should be careful while handcuffing is because you don't know the suspect's mental attitude or behavioral disorders. Another reason that you should be careful is because depending on the time and location the suspect may be intoxicated. It's also important to have a good attitude because if your attitude snaps then the suspect may get hurt and in results you may get sued.
One thing you are taking away from the suspect is there fundamental right to freedom They will also pat down the suspect and remove all property that's equipped to them that might be hidden in their pockets. If the suspect has a gun and the police officer takes it, then the police officer is also taking the 2nd Amendment away from them, which is the right to bear arms.
