TRISTAN'S POV!!!!!!

“Tristan, can you chill? She'll be here any second, its Hartley. She's always, like, an hour early for everything.” Quinn commented, watching me pace back and forth as he made what was probably his 8th orbit around the luggage conveyor belt.

“There are literally about 12 signs telling you not to do that.” I replied, but he just shrugged, taking a careless sip from his Slurpee.

“Those are merely suggestions.”

I sighed and collapsed onto one of the airport benches, setting the bouquet of flowers I'd bought down beside me. I'd made sure to get the biggest bouquet the flower stand had, just to see Hartley's reaction.

“It's almost 10, what if she doesn't come?” I worried, standing up to pace again.

“I thought you had a back up plan if she doesn't.”

“I do,” I told him, slightly annoyed, “But I don't want to have to use that one.”

Essentially, I'd made the decision to stay. There were conditions, of course: If Hartley showed up, I'd stay behind and continue my school year here, but if she didn't, well... I had enough money in my wallet for a plane ticket back to Arizona. It was all dependent on whether or not she cared about me enough to show up, I guess.

“She'll come, I promise.”

“I know, I know.” I grumbled, running my thumb lightly over one of the flower's petals, “What're you and Lacey going to do if I leave?”

As of right now, I'd been staying with the Carr's at their parents place, which was also a lot of the reason why they hadn't been touring lately. I guess they felt it was their duty to babysit me.

“I think we're going to take a break from the band for a while. We've been looking at a place just down the street from where we live now, and Lacey and I are thinking of using the money we've saved up from the tour to buy it. It's big, and has a studio upstairs for me, and a master bedroom downstairs for her and Gunner. I think I might just hole up in there and write songs for a few months, then maybe go solo if Lacey and Gunner don't feel like restarting the band. What're you going to do in Arizona?”

“Good question,” I told him, scratching the back of my neck, “I guess move back into my apartment, maybe finish off the year there and come back. Arizona doesn't have much there for me anymore.”

“Well, you can always stay with me when you come back. I have a feeling I'm going to get tired of third wheeling the newlyweds really fast.”

“Thanks, Quinn. Do you have the time?”

“10:27” he told me, just as the flight attendants voice came over the PA, announcing that boarding for my flight had begun. Hartley was no where to be seen.

I pulled out my phone and dialled her number, but it went straight to voice mail.

Hey, this is Hartley. My phone is either in my bag, or I'm ignoring you, so leave a message and I'll get back to you when I feel like it.”

I hung up and stared at my phone, just as the time flipped to 10:29. She wasn't coming.

“Tristan, c'mon. Don't leave, she's probably stuck in traffic or something. She cares about you, and we both know it. She wouldn't intentionally leave you hanging.” Quinn tried to reassure me, but even he didn't seem like he quite believed what he was saying either.

“Can you come help me with my suitcases? I apparently have a flight to catch.” I told him in response, and he sighed, looking at me with defeated eyes.

“Fine, if this is what you want.”

“It is.” I assured him, but my voice was monotone, not even attempting to cover up my lie.

With one last withering look at the bouquet in my hand, I tossed it into the garbage can beside me and followed after Quinn, not looking back even once.

*************************

Okay hey guys, so I'm going to write the epilogue right now, and hopefully we'll be able to finish up this book by tonight. Also, I was considering selling this as an e-book on Amazon when I turn 18, would any of you be interested in buying it if I did? It'd only be like a few dollars, and of course I'd fix it up and maybe change up some things, so yeah let me know. Thank you my darlings <3
