Lost in thought: poetry from within

Close to you

I sit and reflect,

And as I listen to the thoughts inside my head

All I can think about is how I long to be close

To you.

The feelings I get when I read your words is

Unmistakable. The beauty in each and every

Sentence is like a dream come true.

When I think of your love for me, I could never

Imagine why someone so perfect could choose

Someone like me.

My natural self is so weak, but you are so strong.

You walk and gently nudge me when I lag behind

You pick me up before I fall and even when the wind

Knocks me down, you bend right over to scoop me

Up.

When I think of all the times I've failed you, I cry.

As I take a look and see who you saved me from

I am relieved.

I can only imagine when I come to you, how we will

Sing and dance and laugh together, but for now I'll

Be Content just to be close to you.
