Chapter 2

Nathaniel P.O.V

It took everything in me not to rip my brothers arm out of its socket, wrap my arms around my mate and mark her letting everyone know that she was mine. But I couldn't do that, she was human and wouldn't know what I am. I should still be the only one to hold her close though.

I was brought out of my brooding thoughts when I saw my little mate slip Luke's arm from around her. I looked towards her beautiful face to see why she had moved so suddenly when our eyes connected. I watched her as everything around us began to disappear. Cheesy I know, but I can't help but feel this way.

I couldn't help but feel as if she was looking for something when she looked at me. And then she got the cutest expression on her face. As if she had found the answer to the hardest math equation in the world.

She tilted her head to the side and squinted her eyes and blurted out "Where are your braces?"

I felt my wolf growl in satisfaction, he was happy that our mate noticed our change. I was about to reply when I heard Sierra walk through the door. On her way towards us she noticed Vanessa.

"Who's the human?" She sneered to me through mind linked.

"You will not be disrespectful to my mate.You will call her Vanessa or Van." My wolf growled at her. Sister or not she wasn't going to disrespect our mate.

" Yes Alpha." She replied without even breaking her stride.

When she reached us she wrapped her arms around me and gave me a hug. As irritated as I was with her, I still missed her so I returned her hug.

I wasn't prepared for the hurt that met me when I looked into Vanessa's eyes. Fuck. What did I just do?

Vanessa P.O.V

I threw my body onto my bed and glared at my open window.That creepy asshole is my neighbor! And let's not forget the fact that his room is directly across from mine. As much as I want to move to the empty bedroom down the hall something's stoping me. As much of a pain in the ass he is something about him draws me to him.

I threw my head back and thought of what happened about an hour ago.

~ Flashback ~

I watched helplessly as the blond beauty wrapped her arms around Nathaniel. I wanted nothing more than to rip her arms out of its sockets. But I knew I wouldn't be able to, she was ten times stronger than me. I don't even know why I was reacting this way. I don't know why I felt so hurt when Nathaniel wrapped his arms around her,returning the hug.

When he looked at me, I tried to cover it up but I know that he saw it. A look of regret instantly covered his face and I didn't understand it. It wasn't like we were in a relationship. He hasn't even had a conversation with me.

"Hi, my name is Sierra. And you are?" The tall blonde asked me as she stuck her hand out.

"Vanessa but everyone calls me Van." I replied with my best fake smile as I shook her hand.

"Except for me, I'm calling her Nessie." Luke blurted out proudly " I'm special."

I couldn't help but roll my eyes and try to smack Luke against the back off his head. Key word try. Just when my hand was about to reach his head his arm reached out and blocked my hand. Before a shocked look could register on my face I pretended to be irritated that he blocked my hit with a huff.

But on the inside I was going crazy. One wolf, okay that's fine but two?-scratch that. Three because Nathaniel is Lucas's brother. As I sat there thinking through all this my heart began to pick up pace. Instantly Nathaniel was in front of me with both of his hands on both sides of my face.
