It was difficult not to recoil from the stench he was blowing onto my face. Seriously, I could be a slob at times, but he was just a whole new level. I was brought back from my thoughts when I felt his hand grip my hair tightly, yanking on it firmly before continuing talking. Well, more like growling.

"Now, we can do this the easy way, or the hard way. I'll let this little....situation slide, if you co-operate. But if not, well, I'm not too sure you'd like the...consequences."

I kept eye contact the entire time, keeping my face blank, not letting anything show. I'd always been good at that, but usually it was used to help my sarcastic sense of humour with my friends, not to hide my emotions. At least it came in useful though. His impatience seemed to grow with my silence and blank face though, as he yanked on my air again, and rose his voice. "So what will it be. Easy way, or the hard way?"

I smirked at him, well, tried to anyway, which was probably a mistake, but I didn't care at that moment. "Well when you put it like that" I started, pretending to consider it through, "I've always liked a challenge."

Honestly, I have no idea what was going through my head at that moment. Looking back now, I realise how much of an idiot I was, trying to fight fire with fire. In the end, someone's always going to get burned. Obviously in that situation, it would be me. But I'd always been a stubborn idiot, I knew that, and I hated to seem weak.

He didn't seem to like my answer though, because one second I was standing in the van, him holding onto my hair, and the next I was out of the van, on my knees on the dirty ground, with him still holding onto my hair. My head was throbbing from where he'd tugged, but I tried not to let it show. I wouldn't be surprised if he'd pulled half my hair out.

I could cope with hair pulling though. Whenever I got into a fight with my sister, she'd always pull my hair. I'd once been dragged backwards down the stairs by my hair, and had a big chunk ripped out. If that was all he was going to do, I was going to be fine. Of course though, I knew that was just the beginning. What person gets abducted just to have their hair pulled? Exactly.

Before I could scramble back up to my feet though, the other guy seemed to appear from nowhere. Well, not really him, more his foot. I saw it a second before it struck my ribs. I fell backwards from the impact, but I was yanked back up straight away by my hair again. The next time his foot came towards me, I was more prepared, so I stuck my hands out and grabbed onto his ankle and twisted it round before it could hit me again. I grinned at my little victory, but that was wiped off my face when I felt myself being dragged away, still by my hair.

I somehow managed to get on to my feet, but my head was twisted at an awkward angle, and I had to walk pretty much sideways to deal with it. After a few painful moments, with my ribs still stinging, we reached some sort of building. It seemed run down and totally off the radar. Typically perfect for them obviously.

I was dragged over to the left, and a quick look out of the corner of my eye, I saw we were reaching some stairs. I stumbled down behind them, not able to fully keep my balance due to the awkward angle I was standing at.

I heard the sound of metal screeching, which I had no doubt was a rusty old gate being opened. I was right, of course. We quickly walked through it and after another couple of metres, we stopped.

I heard the sound of a key being turned and a door being opened before I was roughly thrown with enough force to knock me to the floor into a small, dark, cold room. The ground was made of simple cement, and the walls were bare, the same material as the floor. There were no windows, no heating, and not a light in sight. The only light came from the open door in which the two men were standing, observing me with dark glints in their eyes. I glared at them with all the anger I had, and if looks could kill, they'd be dead in a heartbeat. Then again, so would I, twice, from the looks they were giving me.

The last words I heard before the door was slammed shut in my face and I was plunged into darkness were spoken in the same growl as before. "I was hoping you'd take the hard way. It's much more fun for us. But know this. You've just made a very big mistake."
