I feel you all slipping away
Too far gone to reach
I don't know how I lost you
Why I lost you
One day we were in each others lives
And then, now, we're frustrated messages
Silence on one end
Our shadows the only versions of us
To criss-cross paths
I used to think we'd make it
Battle on through
But we're no different than everyone else
Who lost one another a long time ago
Nothing really lasts
I used to think we could
But you wanted to love your life
I'm rocketing my way towards mine
And somewhere along the way
Everyone stopped caring
It became too hard to pick up the phone
Too distant to catch up for coffee next month
Too nostalgic to talk about what we really mean
I never expected to lose any of you
I thought you couldn't just...leave
Tonight I'm sitting here alone
Reminiscing what we used to be
Grieving,
