Chp. 6- Want
3rd Person POV

Annabeth stared wide eyed at the message written. She takes a calming breath before speaking aloud.

"Yes. I want to make a deal."

"No you don't," Percy says next to her. She ignores him and waits for something- anything to happen.

Things begin to blur and Annabeth feels Percy grab her arm before she collapses.

Annabeth looks around her surroundings. She is in a prison of some sort.

She hears a groan of pain to looks to see Percy. His hands are chained above his head as he propped up sitting against the wall. His head hangs low and ichor pours from his wounds.

Annabeth stares at him in shock unable to speak at all.

Percy sharply jerks his head up  to look Annabeth in the eye. A small smirk on his face. "So... What is this deal?" The voice that comes from Percy is cruel and cold. Annabeth regains bee composure.

"Depends on what it is you want. You already know what I want," Annabeth says.

Percy-Tartarus nods and his smile grows. "Of course. But want and need are two very different things."

"What do you want?"

"I already have what I want."

"There must-"

"I can watch him cry out in pain. I can watch the others he affected in pain. What more could I want? I'm not like my siblings. I will gain nothing by over throwing the gods. So I have what it is I want."

"No you don't."

His eyes narrow. "Did you not  just hear what I-"

"I heard," Annabeth interrupts. "You are bored. That's the whole point of this. You could have killed him easy but you don't. You torture. And now you're bored. What you want is entertainment. Something he is no longer giving you. If you had what you want you wouldn't have contacted me. So, I ask you again. What do you want?"

Tartarus pauses staring at her. Annabeth does her best not to show that the cold stare coming from Percy's body unnerves her.

"We have a deal," he says finally. "I shall release him... Then I get what I want."

"And what is that?"

"Does it matter?"

"To make it deal both sides have to agree on-"

"I know what a deal is!" He snaps. After a short pause he continues. "But all you must do for your side of the deal is live your eternal life as you do now. Doing your duties as a goddess. Can you do that daughter of Athena?"

"You just want me to continue being a goddess?" Annabeth asks confused.

He nods. "For eternity."

"I am a goddess aren't I? I live for eternity as one.... Alright. But when will you return him?"

"One month."

"You cannot take him prisoner again."

"I will not as long as you swear to your side."

Annabeth raises an eyebrow but complies. "I will remain a goddess for eternity if and only if Tartarus releases his prisoner Perseus Jackson in the next month and does not take him again. I swear it on the Styx."

Thunder rumbles and Tartarus smiles before a cruel laugh emits from his throat.

Things begin to blur in Annabeth's vision again and in the background she can hear him speak through his laughter. "This will be fun."

And everything went black.

Hey!

So why do you think Tartarus wants Annabeth to be a goddess?

Also this will probably only be one or two more chapter then an epilogue. I told you it would be short.
