Chp. 1- He's Back
3rd Person POV

Annabeth finally pulls back from their embrace.

"What's going on?"

The two let go and find Max and Lily standing weapons drawn at the back door.

"Kids?" Percy asks confused.

"It's Max and Lily, Seaweed Brain," Annabeth says shaking her head.

Lily steps forward. "Percy?"

Percy gives her a lopsided grin. She runs forward grabbing him in a hug.

"So am I the only one then wondering why everything is covered in ichor?" Max asks walking over.

"It happens," Percy shrugs.

"You've lost a lot of ichor," Annabeth says shaking her head. "I'm calling Apollo. You two bring him inside."

Before Percy can protest he is being dragged in doors and placed on a couch.

"I called him," Annabeth announces.

A few minutes of silence pass...

"You all act as if I have nothing to do," A voice sounds from the kitchen. "But driving the sun takes a lot of work and makes me hungry." The opening of the fridge and various cabinets are heard. "Do you got anything else besides cereal? I've had enough of the stuff. Demeter has been on a rampage. You know-"

"Get in here!" Annabeth orders.

"Fine. Fine." A moment later Apollo walks in an apple in his hand. He takes a bite and leans against the door frame. "Well? You wanted something?"

"Fix him."

"Fix who? Kid looks fine," Apollo says taking another bite and looking Max up and down.

"Are you serious?" Annabeth shouts. "Just look at him!" She points over to the couch.

"At who?" Apollo asks slowly and cocking his head to one side. "That is empty space. You need our eyes checked.... Wait- Hermes put you up to this didn't he?" Apollo flashes out rumbling about annoying godly brothers.

"What just happened?" Max blinks.

"He must be sick or something... Can Apollo get sick?" Lily asks.

"How can Apollo not see you?" Annabeth asks Percy.

Percy shrugs in reply. "How should I know?"

"So wait, you were the one screaming?" Lily asks.

"Probably," Percy says while wiping some ichor from his face. "That hurt."

Annabeth slaps him across the face.

"That hurt too..."

"It was supposed to," Annabeth says. "But how can you say that so calmly!? You've been in freaking Tartarus held captive for eight years and now you randomly appear bleeding in my backyard and act like nothing is wrong!?"

"How am I supposed to act?" Percy questions his eyes darkening slightly. "Would you prefer a detailed explanation of every moment? Remember we were there for 18 days just trying to walk trough and barely made it. 8 years as a captive is different." Percy blinks and then shakes his head calming himself.

"How are we supposed to heal you now?" Max asks.

"I can sense water isn't far," Percy says.

Annabeth nods and then turns to the twins. "You two go back to bed."

"What?"

"No!"

"Go," Annabeth repeats. The twins sigh and head upstairs. Annabeth places a hand on Percy's shoulder and brings them to the lake. They appear on the dock and Percy smiles. He shakily stands and jumps right in. Annabeth rolls her eyes and sits at the edge of the dock waiting for him to come back.

There is a bright light and a man in a Hawaiian shirt appears. He stares down at the water.

"Is that really..." Poseidon's voice fails him and he trails off.

"Yeah," Annabeth says. "I don't know why or how but, he's back."
