A/N: (Alpha Eliot's pack house is on the right). Enjoy! xx

Just as I hopped out of the car, I grabbed my brother's arm. He whirled around, looking confused as he looked down at the tight grip I'd secured him with.

"Olly, as much as I don't want to, I think I should do this alone. You know this is Poppy's pack house. There's a small chance she might be here." His fists clenched and I could feel his muscles ripple under the hand that was still restraining him.

"Yeah ok. I'll wait in the car. Good luck Fee" I could tell he wasn't ready to face her yet and as much as I needed the brotherly support, I didn't need it that much.

With that, I watched as he settled back into the driver's seat of the car, shoving a chewing gum in his mouth. I carried on worrying about him as I made my way up the long driveway to the imposing mansion in front of me.

I think he's concealing his pain better than I originally suspected. I guess I'd never felt the mating link so I couldn't fully relate, thank goodness. If this is what happened, I'd put off meeting my mate for as long as possible. Who needed the hassle? Whilst still in my own little world, I reached the large wooden doors that were the obvious entrance to the extremely intimidating building.

Knock. knock. knock. My knuckles stung a little as I notifyed the pack of my presence. On the last knock, the door jerked open with a groan and I was greeted by a small head of blonde hair.

"Ahh hiya! You must be Ophelia, my dad's expecting you! I'm Eve, I don't know if you remember me from our meeting a a year or so ago?" She looked at me, obviously hoping that I'd remember in order to avoid an awkward 'you remember me but I don't remember you' moment.

"Hello, of course I remember." I smiled at her, reassuring her that any potential awkward moments would be kept at bay.

"Is Alpha Eliot ok to meet me? I believe we agreed 8?" I asked politely. I wanted to avoid small talk as much as possible, and I didn't want to hang around here any longer than necessary to be honest.

"Of course. I'll show you to his meeting room." She stepped back from the entrance and beckoned me in. As soon as I stepped over the threshold, I was greeted by a wall of different scents. Sometimes you just couldn't avoid being a wolf.  I wasn't used to this whirl of aromas, and my head began to cloud with a dull ache as they began to overload my brain. My wolf struggled to cope with lots of senses since I'd been couping her up for so long.

"This way." She motioned for me to follow her. I walked through the first entrance room. It had an overwhelming essence of grandeur, I could practically smell the fine wood that lined the floor.

So this was what it was like to be in one of the most powerful packs in the country. Lucky for some hey?

A huge staircase was the centrepiece and the wooden banister surrounding it was intricately carved, winding up the steep, carpet lined steps. As I took a left, still following Eve, a group of young children raced past me nearly knocking me off my feet. Their excited chatter and playful shouts could be heard as they raced down the corridor we'd just turned into.

"Sorry about them" Eve looked at me apologetically. "One down side of living in a pack house is the constant noise and chaos".

I smiled warmly at her "No problem. Alpha Eliot must have his hands full"

"Oh. You have no idea" She grinned at me as she approached our destination and knocked three times.

"Come in". A low, authorititive voice could be heard from the other side of the door.
