"So, we're doppelgangers?" Stefan's confusion was palpable.

He then dropped another bombshell: His attraction to Elena/Kathrine was merely a consequence of a spell to ensure the proximity of the doppelgangers.

As Kai closed his eyes, he broached a more personal topic. "How do you feel about the child? Technically, it's yours."
"I'm not entirely sure. When I took you and Marcel in, you were already older. I'm ynot sure how to handle a literal infant," Elias confessed.

As they arrived at the front door, Elias wasted no time knocking, only to be greeted by a heavily pregnant Valerie. Stefan's shock was palpable as Elias couldn't help but blurt out, "When did you go from barely pregnant to about ready to pop?"
Valerie chuckled softly, her hand resting on her swollen stomach. "After you left, the pregnancy seemed to progress rapidly. The spell they performed ensured everything went smoothly, but it seems these babies are eager to make their debut."
