Why these poems came to be

I started writing in grade 7 (secondary 1) at the age of 13. At first when people asked me I claimed that my writings were purely fiction. That was a lie. That was just so people enjoyed my poetry instead of seeing the darkness inside me that I kept under a shy, quiet, nerdy bookworm. I prefered being that then the freakazoid or the person that people would call names that had to do with mental hospitals.

Years later, I don't care what people think anymore. Why? Because I realize that writing these poems, expressing my emotions on paper saved me in a way. Being the shy, quiet, nerdy bookworm means you get picked on a lot. I admit that sometimes, life wasn't easy and I just wanted to let things go but instead, I took up a pen and some paper and scribbled.

I hope that you can enjoy these poems even if most are dark and touch some difficult subjects. Just like my stories, I'm not a fan of the cheesy lovie-dovie stuff.

Enjoy
