"So you mean They didn't care which one of us died," I said, thoughts whirling inside my head. Everything fits if this was, in fact, their goal, though.

Tsukasa nodded. "I hate to admit it, but it seemed like the biggest possibility."

"But why?" I scratched my head, both worried and afraid, mixed with a little bit of anger, "If they do this, then they must know us, right?"

"I suppose so." He said, sighing and sitting on my bed. Silence hung between us for a moment or two again. Silence got less awkward now, or maybe we were just too busy in our heads.

"So it's someone we know." I muttered.

"..."

"It's someone we know." I muttered again, my voice stronger this time.

"...Probably."

"But who the fuck would do something like this?!" I yelled from the top of my lungs. My head felt like a mess from all this. It took me some time to realize I yelled. "Sorry... I lost control there."

Tsukasa didn't care either way. We had a way bigger problem in front of us. "I don't know, Rui. I wish I did."

I sat back, trying to regain my thoughts and piece them together one by one again. But that seemed like the only possibility that made sense, unless it was an accident. But it wasn't one, and we knew that well. The driver would've apologized already. They wouldn't go to jail for an accident if it was truly an accident.

Wait.

Tsukasa's eyes suddenly widened, "Rui. You don't think..."

"What?"

"It's just that I can think of people that hate us." Tsukasa mumbled, "Aikawa, Imagawa, Yoshida... And Hayashi in particular."

Of course, Makoto, Kosuke, Mio and Aoki in particular.

I shook my head, trying my best to stay calm as my mind whirled once more, "No, that's... Unrealistic."

So now it's my turn to say that, huh?

He sighed. "Rui. If someone were to kill us was not unrealistic, then this one wouldn't be unrealistic either."

"..."

"And possibly even Noyoko." He said.

"..."

"I know you don't want this, I mean, they're kind of... Your 'friends?' But we still have to point out every possibility. It's only fair like this, even though it might not be them."

"You're right, but..." I paused, "But they wouldn't go this far for just hating our relationship, would they?"

Tsukasa shook his head with eyes closed. "We wouldn't know until we know who it is. Like I said, it's a possibility."

"It can't be them," I mumbled, trying to convince myself and Tsukasa.

He took a deep breath. "Okay, fine. Maybe it's not. But we still have to write them down, okay? It's only fair."

The room fell into another moment of heavy silence as we both looked into the unsettling possibilities that simple lines on newspapers could lead us to.

Tsukasa leaned forward, his gaze fixed on the floor. "Look, Rui, I don't want to believe it either. But we can't ignore any leads. It could be someone we least expect, or it could be a twisted way of seeking revenge."

"I just can't understand why they - or anyone, really - would go to such extremes," I muttered, my mind racing to find an explanation. "I mean, if it's not them, why would anyone even come close to our existence? We're not famous, we're just regular people. Why would someone want to kill us?"

"Maybe it's not about that," Tsukasa suggested. "It could be personal, something we haven't even noticed. Sometimes people's motives are so hidden that any normal person wouldn't have guessed."

Feeling a mixture of frustration and fear, I sighed. "We can't just sit here and wait for whoever it is to come after us again. We have to figure it out."

Tsukasa narrowed his eyes. "Isn't that what we've been saying for the past half an hour now?"

"I know, I know..."

Sorry to disappoint y'all, but this part, is in fact, discontinued...! I still have the rest of my plot in my head. I could make another chapter just to explain it but it wouldn't be written out as a story... I mean I kinda gave up.

Thanks for reading as always!!
