Chapter 73

Lawrence Maclin on a phone call

" Tell your son I don't want him anywhere close to my family. And  take note, I'm redrawing all business projects we planned on doing. You should teach your son some manners and not just business."

" I can explain."
" There's nothing to explain Lawrence."

Before Lawrence Maclin could utter another word, Clark had hung up.

He angrily walks to his son's room and on his face he landed a slap.

" What the hell is wrong with you?! Do you know what your stupid brain has caused now????! Mr. Clark is redrawing all business projects and he's definitely gonna tell other people about it. He was there the day you did that stupid thing. He saw everything."

" You can't blame me. I had to do it."
" Are you out of  your mind??! We're talking about business here!!"

" And is he the only business man with a daughter?!!! I don't get you."

" I seee...so you're doing all these to break his daughter's heart to make you a free man to be able to marry Olivares???"

" Exactly!"

" You choose  a mere girl over your family? What do you know about love?!!"

" I'm suppose to be asking you that. You know nothing! Sometimes I wonder why mum chose you over other men!!"

Lawrence Maclin doesn't doesn't think twice and lands another slap on his son's face.

" Don't you dare say such a thing again else.."
" Else what??? You'll slap me again?? Cut me off?? Go ahead!! Lawrence Maclin!!"

" You're  not going to marry Rashell and I'll make sure of that. You're going to work your ass off and make us rich. You better think of a way to clean this mess and you're going to work your ass off without getting in touch with anyone back home!!"

He slams the door on his way out. Tyron angrily throws his pillows on the floor and other things away.

Now he hasn't just mess things up with the Clark family but rather everything. In Lawrence Maclin 's office, he answers the calls of business men who were enquiring about what Tyron did.

Some redrew their business contracts and for others, he was able to convince them. After several phone calls, he yells at the maidservant who walked in with a juice.

Feeling a bit okay, he calls his wife and informs her about Tyron's behaviour. Miss Brie talks to her son and tells him to stop what he's doing and help his dad  if he wants to be with Rashell.

Three Months Later

The tension between father and son has  died down, Tyron is  back on his feet doing business. He was able to convince some investors and they agreed not to redraw.

France

" How's life treating you?"
" Good. What about you?"

" Same. So ummm..Tyron is okay with you in France?? I mean, long distance relationship is difficult and you know how it works."

" Everything is fine and we're not in a relationship."

" You broke up with him?"
" No. Hmm no one knows his whereabouts. He just disappeared. Can we talk about something different?"

" Alright. You know what? Let's explore France together."

" Sure. Sounds interesting."

" Let's go."

She smiles and they hold hands. Rashell and Xavier are back together. Xavier  hasn't given up on  Rashell . He tries to make her love him and she's forced to tell him everything that happened in the States between she and Tyron.

And of course, she didn't tell him she was pregnant. He convinces Rashell to give him a chance to prove to her he's the one for her.

" Just give me a chance. You're in France. One of the best places you could ever be and you're here with me and not Tyron. Trust me Virginia, I'll treat you well and never disappear like Tyron."

" It's been a while I heard someone call me Virginia. But.."
" Ssshhh"

He stops her from completing her sentence with a kiss. She pushes him away.

" Stop it. Tyron and I didn't break up and in as much as I hate him, I can't cheat on him."
" Forget about him. He would come looking for you if he truly loves you."

" Just forget about everything. I want to go home, I'm already exhausted." 

" Alright. I'm sorry."

They head home.

So soon, Rashell has started taking up her dad's business. They go on business trips together sometimes and she's currently in one of the best business universities in France.

Her friends in New York tell her about Tyron's whereabouts and she tells them she's moved on so they shouldn't bother trying to get them together.

Time moves pretty quick on their side. Rashell also taking up her dad's business. Working so hard to make them rise again and Tyron out there doing same.

Trying his best to please his father so he can meet the woman he loves once again.

He still doesn't know Rashell has left  New York. It's the memories that's keeping Tyron alive and it's the baby that's keeping Rashell moving.

Even though her baby died in an unexpected way, it's what keeps her going.

She has to live for her  dead baby and find out why his dad left them in such a miserable state.
