Added Confusion

The South Korean FBI headquarters loomed before Kory, its imposing facade casting a shadow over her weary form. She stood outside, the weight of exhaustion pressing down on her shoulders like a heavy burden.

Another fruitless meeting had just concluded, leaving her feeling disheartened and frustrated. Inside, she had presented the evidence and photographs of the strange symbol, hoping for answers, only to be met with puzzled looks and shrugged shoulders.

It seemed that even the esteemed FBI had no solutions to offer, leaving Kory to battle with the enigma on her own.

With a weary sigh, Kory leaned against the cool stone facade of the building, her mind swirling with frustration and disappointment.

It seemed that at every turn, the case presented new challenges and obstacles, each one more daunting than the last. But she refused to let herself be deterred. She had come too far to give up now.

Lost in her thoughts, Kory was startled when a familiar voice called out her name. She turned to see Jinwook, her ex-fiancé and a FBI investigator, standing before her. For a moment, she was stunned, the memories of their past relationship flooding back with unexpected force.

"Jinwook?" she greeted him, her voice tinged with surprise and uncertainty.

"Kory," he replied, his tone warm but guarded. There was a tension between them, an unspoken history that hung in the air like a heavy fog.

As they stood facing each other, Kory couldn't help but feel a pang of nostalgia at the sight of Jinwook. He was as handsome as ever, his dark eyes holding a hint of mischief that she remembered all too well.

But there was something else there too, something she couldn't quite put her finger on.

"Are you busy?" Jinwook asked, breaking the silence that had settled between them.

Kory hesitated, torn between the desire to reconnect with Jinwook and the pressing demands of her job. But in the end, curiosity won out.

"Not too busy for lunch," she replied with a small smile.

Jinwook returned her smile, his eyes crinkling at the corners in amusement. "Great, I know a place just around the corner."

They walked together towards the nearby restaurant, Kory couldn't shake the feeling of unease that lingered at the back of her mind. There was something about Jinwook's presence that unsettled her, something that she couldn't quite pinpoint.

As they settled into their seats at the restaurant, Kory couldn't resist the urge to share the photograph of the strange symbol with Jinwook, hoping that he might have some insight to offer.

Jinwook studied the photograph for a moment, his expression unreadable. Then, to Kory's surprise, he burst out laughing.

"A mafia symbol, that's what it is," he said, his voice tinged with amusement.

Kory's eyes widened in surprise, a mixture of relief and disappointment flooding through her. Relief that she finally had an answer, and disappointment that she hadn't been able to figure it out herself.

Kory's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "How do you know about that?" she asked, curiosity piqued.

Jinwook simply shrugged, "I just do," he replied cryptically.

Kory nodded, her mind racing with possibilities. She had finally found a lead, a thread to follow in her quest for answers. Her mind already piecing together the implications of Jinwook's cryptic response.

"Well, whatever you know, it could be a breakthrough for us," she remarked, her tone hopeful.

Jinwook leaned in, his voice lowered as he revealed, "It's the symbol of a mafia group called HAERTOWN."

Kory leaned forward, her curiosity piqued by Jinwook's revelation, "HAERTOWN?" she repeated, her mind racing to recall any information she might have heard about them.

Jinwook nodded solemnly. "They're a small mafia organization, operating in the shadows for only a couple of months," he explained. "Their base is rumored to be near Gangnam."

Kory's shock deepened. "How do you know all this?" she asked, astounded by Jinwook's knowledge.

Jinwook shrugged nonchalantly. "Let's just say I have my sources," he replied mysteriously, a hint of a smile playing on his lips.

Kory's skepticism lingered, evident in the furrow of her brow as she regarded Jinwook with a mix of curiosity and suspicion. "Your sources seem quite well-informed," she remarked, a note of skepticism in her voice.

Jinwook chuckled softly. "You could say that I have a knack for finding out things that others overlook,"

He then reached across the table, placing a reassuring hand on Kory's. "We'll figure it out, Kory. Together."

Their conversation drifted to other topics as they finished their meal, but Kory couldn't shake the feeling that Jinwook held the key to unlocking the mysteries surrounding the elusive HAERTOWN mafia group.

Kory headed back to the police station, her mind already racing with plans to track down Haertown and put a stop to their nefarious activities once and for all.
