AUTHOR'S POV

Her heart skipped a beat as she stood frozen in place, staring at him. Y/N's mind raced. What is he doing here? Is he actually there or is this just another figment of her imagination?

Taking a deep breath, Y/N slowly made her way towards him, her eyes never leaving his face. As she got closer, she noticed the way his hair fell over his forehead, the way he absentmindedly tapped his foot to a silent rhythm. It was him, unmistakably Soobin.

She stopped in front of his table, unsure of what to say. Soobin looked up, his smile fading as he noticed her standing there.

Y/N : Soobin..

Soobin : Yes?

Y/N : Do you recognise me?

Soobin : No.

Y/N felt a pang of disappointment as Soobin's straightforward answer hit her. She had hoped that maybe, just maybe, he would remember her. She took a deep breath, trying to keep her composure.

Y/N: I see. It's just... we've met before.

Soobin looked at her, a hint of confusion in his eyes.

Soobin: We have? I'm sorry, I don't recall.

Y/N nodded, trying to hide her disappointment.

Y/N: It's okay. It's been a while.

Soobin smiled apologetically, and Y/N couldn't help but notice how charming he looked, even though he didn't remember her.

Soobin: Well, it's nice to meet you again, then. I'm Soobin.

Y/N smiled back, trying to push away the feeling of deja vu that lingered in her mind.

Y/N: Nice to meet you too, Soobin. I'm Y/N.

Y/N's POV

We exchanged handshake and even a minute touch of Soobin made me feel something in my chest. I just needed him to be by my side in every situation. I stood by his side still and Soobin turned towards me.

Soobin : Do you need something?

Y/N : Uh.. No.

Yeonjun : By the way, I am Yeonjun. Nice to meet you, Y/N.

Y/N : Nice to meet you too Yeonjun.

Beomgyu : And I'm Beomgyu. You can just me Gyu.

Beomgyu winked making me smile. He is the same as he was during that time.

Yeonjun : You can join us if you want to.

Y/N : Oh no no, it's fine. I will leave. Thanks for asking.

Yeonjun : Okay see you later.

As I left the bustling cafeteria, my footsteps echoed through the empty hallway. My mind, however, was anything but silent. Thoughts of him danced through my head like a persistent melody, refusing to fade into the background.

The way he smiled at me earlier, a smile that lit up his eyes and made my heart flutter.

Yet once again.

Reaching the classroom, I took my seat, but my mind remained elsewhere. Lost in my thoughts, I barely noticed the lesson starting, my mind consumed by thoughts of him.

As the lesson began, I tried to focus, but my mind kept drifting back to him. The words of the teacher became background noise, barely registering in my consciousness. I doodled absentmindedly in the margins of my notebook, my thoughts consumed by memories of us.

That I had earlier.

I remembered the way he looked at me, the sound of his laughter, the way his presence seemed to fill the room.

And I miss him. Miss him to an unimaginable extent.

If anyhow everything I saw was a dream. I wish I could just go back.

SOOBIN's POV

Yeonjun : Do you know her?

Soobin : No.

Yeonjun : Then why did you befriend her?

Soobin : I'll end it.

Yeonjun : Hey, that's not what I am saying.

Beomgyu : Wasn't she pretty?

Yeonjun : She is, though.

Taehyun : Hi guys, what's up?

Beomgyu : A girl approached Soobin a while ago.

Kai : Oh and did you again break someone's innocent heart?

Yeonjun : Nah. He befriended her.

Taehyun : He did what?

Soobin : It's not like I have something with her. By her expressions, it seemed like we had met earlier but I don't know her.

Kai : Was she pretty?

Soobin : What do you guys have to do with a girl who's pretty?

I scoffed and got up from my seat with the coffee cup in my hand and walked out of the cafeteria with my other hand in my pocket.

I walked down the empty corridor, a tune escaping ny lips in a soft whistle. My thoughts were elsewhere, focused on the day's events, until a flicker of movement caught my eye. I paused, turning my head, and saw the girl from before sitting alone in the classroom, her head resting on the table.

Curiosity piqued, I pushed open the door and stepped inside. The room was quiet, and the only sound was of the faint rustle of papers as I approached her. She didn't stir, lost in whatever thoughts weighed her down.

I stood beside her, looking down at her peaceful face. Her eyelashes cast delicate shadows on her cheeks, I he wondered what troubled me. Out of nowhere, I reached out and brushed a lock of hair behind her ear getting a clear view of her side profile.

Soon after a couple of seconds of realisation, I pulled my hand and shook my head.

What had gotten into me?

As Y/N lifted her head, she murmured something so faint that I had to lean in closer to hear.

" I miss you.. Soobin."

My heart skipped a beat, caught off guard by her words. I stared at her, my mind racing.

I flickered my eyes a couple of times and silently walked away from the classroom. I leaned my back against the wall taking a deep breath.

Did I hear her correctly? Did she really say that?
