RUINED
Kiel's POV
I will always be sorry for all the terrible things I did in my life.
But I'm grateful, you never gave up on me.
You were among those who believed in me,
even when I no longer believed in myself.
"Sinasabi mo?" I chuckled and ran a hand through my hair.
"Deny pa."
"Hindi ko gusto si Lana."
I don't think love is for me. It's the one emotion I am not fond of.
Wala akong bilib sa pagmamahal na 'yan. Kasi kung totoong may nagmamahal, bakit may mga taong nagloloko katulad ni dad? His actions are proof that love is superficial. It isn't true. People just fantasize it.
"Sure bro, whatever." Minsan nakakabanas din talaga itong si Rios lalo na kapag ayaw niyang maniwala sa akin.
Kung hindi ko lang 'to kaibigan, baka iniwanan ko na 'to.
"Tara na nga," pagyayaya ko. "Hanapin na natin ang Paulo na 'yon."
"Uunahin mo pa ba talaga ang boyfriend ni Lana kaysa kay Tito? Kaya natin siya hindi nahuhuli ay dahil hindi tayo naka-focus sa pagsunod sa kanya. We always have side quests. Pati ba naman ngayon? Bro, sawang sawa na ako sa Ponte Almeria. We should follow him now."
I was going to argue but then I noticed my father's car moving on my phone tracker. He's on the move.
"Fine. Drop your date somewhere. I don't want her getting involved in this."
He scoffed. "'Di ko man lang siya na-enjoy. Tss."
Bumalik na siya sa sasakyan niya habang nag-drive naman na ako palabas ng village. I drove as fast as I can to reach my father's whereabouts. I was both nervous and determined to finally confirm that my mother's gut feeling was right.
Tumigil ako sa tapat ng building kung saan nag-park ang tatay ko. Rios called when he stopped behind me.
"I think I should go inside and look for him. 'Wag na ikaw, pre. Baka kung anong magawa mo kapag may nakita kang hindi kaaya-aya."
"If my father doesn't want me acting out, then he shouldn't be doing anything wrong."
"Ikaw bahala."
I ended the call and hopped out of my car. Rinig ko ang pagmamadali niyang sundan ako.
"Dude, sigurado ka ba dito? Maybe we should call your brother, just in case---"
"If you're scared, you can leave," iritableng sambit ko. "Hindi ako aalis dito, Rios. I will put an end to my mother's misery tonight."
