In the quiet night, beneath the full moon's light,
Two souls tangled in a bittersweet love dance
She, with a heart heavy, whispered words into the air
Tears running down with the stars, while her pain is taking flight.

"I can't be your friend," she whisper, as she felt that everything was made of glass, as fragile as a sigh.
Knowing love's warmth embrace, yet destined to separate
The lonely journey of 'just friends,' will be a forever wound that never heals,
Years spent hoping, wishing for love's sweet chance,

With each passing day, she lingered in silent plea,
Praying for a miracle, for love to set her free.
But in the depths of her gaze, she found only indifference,
A painful truth unraveling, shattering her defense.

"I've spent years just waiting for you," she confessed,
Her heart laid bare, her soul distressed, you look into her eyes you'll see her pain.
Dreams dashed upon the rocks of unrequited love,
A love unreturned, a flame destined to expire.

Yet, amidst the chaos, a glimmer of hope arose,
Realization hits different, breaking through the throes
Of a love's cruel game - where hope and despair collide,
"I need to stop waiting," she bravely said, castling fear aside.

For it wasn't her love she craved anymore,
But the strength to let go, to ease the ache, the pain.
"You hurt me," she utterly whispered.
As she turned away, setting her wounded spirit free.
